One of the coolest features of #TreeProfiler IMO, is its ability to automatically compute consensus/summary information for internal nodes, which integrates seamlessly with the new interactive zooming and auto-colapsing features of the #ete4 tree visualization engine. @deng_ziqi

Another step in our goal to build a phylogenomics framework that works well with large datasets: TreeProfiler, a handy tool by @deng_ziqi that can map/profile any kind of data against huge trees.

Course announcement - Phylogenomic data analysis and visualization using ETE Toolkit.
Where: Madrid, Spain.
When: Nov 13-17th, 2023
Registration (free): bit.ly/ete_workshop
Topics: programmatic reconstruction, analysis, handling and visualization of phylogenetic trees.
We are starting our third #ETE4 hackathon day. Yesterday was very productive, with ppl making progress in the visualization of large gene phylogenies with taxonomic info, biogeographic data, HyPhy bindings, phylogenetic profiling, tree handling, and much more.
Today we started our first hackathon! 5 days , 14 people coding together at @CBGP_Madrid + a few other online.
Our main goal is to boost the release of the new ete4 version, which will include a new visualization system able to explore huge trees! #ETE4 funded by @cziscience
A call to our community: New discussion forum, and upcoming Hackathon supported by @cziscience
If interested in participating (in any way), please get in touch so we can better plan the logistics.

Exciting tutorial "Reconstruction, analysis, and visualization of #phylogenomic data with the @ETEtoolkit" to be held in the New Trends in Bioinformatics by ECCB.
Register to the #ECCB2020 and have the opportunity to join this tutorial! 👇
We got a full day tutorial accepted on ETE Toolkit at @eccb2020, which has been transformed in a virtual 3h tutorial. We will try to touch all major features with a bunch real examples. Only intermediate python level required. Registration should be open

I am very glad to announce that we have been awarded with a grant from @cziscience to support the development of @etetoolkit. This will boost the release of a new version focused on better tree comparison methods and large tree visualization. @CBGP_Madrid 1/2

thanks for this summary thread @yoyehudi !
The bigger the data get, the harder it is to visualise - often we end up with a spaghetti hairball. @jhcepas is sharing @etetoolkit with #biovis, to show programattic visualisations of huuuge tree data in python 🐍 👍🏽🌳 #ISMBECCB2019 #ismbeccb

Getting ready for my #ISMB2019 presentation (Mon 3pm @BioVis). First time talking about my hobby project for years: how to make programmatic viz of HUGE annotated trees possible. Still far from production, but it feels good to explore a 10M nodes tree in real time w/ 7G & 1CPU!!!
