The truth is, you never could. Any belief that you could was just a delusion, and the people who were ignorant enough to use "Oh, this is too hard" as a security feature are paying the price now. This was always the outcome. These bugs, holes, gaps, exploits whatever were always going to be found by someone, somewhere, someday. Some were even known to exist and left in place because they were "too hard to exploit." That was always an ignorant narrative, and anyone who's anyone could have told you that. They probably did tell you that, and it was ignored because fixing it was "not cost-effective" or because of some lame-ass bureaucratic nonsense. I don't feel bad for the companies. I feel bad for the people who relied on them and are now caught with their pants down, most likely through no fault of their own. Nobody's perfect, but it's a well-known fact that these companies leave holes knowing they exist. One example was the Microsoft incident earlier this year. And stop supporting shitbag companies that ain't willing to put in the work to protect their customers. Don't let them complain online when they've had a CVE open since 2011 that still hasn't been closed. this is not pointed directly at OpenAI this goes for all of the tech companies we should be talking about this more. #AI #LLM #tech
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman: "I don't even know a dramatic enough word to useโ€ฆ models can find bugs that are outside of the normal threat model of what we think a hacker can doโ€ฆ hardware-level, insane stuffโ€ฆ I no longer think we're gonna be able to just patch all the bugs."

I think the reason @whatRanjuSaid was hit was because of @thekingofstank's promotion of her Slop cannon video. These people mass reported Stanky, then went after everyone around him including truckerchan, and I just wouldn't be surprised if they hit Ranju because of her stellar video. They're jealous, petty, and willing to drive everyone off the platform by any means necessary. Let creators create. #FreeRanju, #FreeBleu, and #FreeStanky
free @whatRanjuSaid she did nthn wrong!! @allegrajacchia @X !! any X employee seeing this please help!!

Yeah I can already hear them jeering in the comments. Children who've never seen an ounce of sincerity in their life. I didn't sleep for days with that first ban, much like how it's difficult to sleep now as I write this at 4 in the morning. I have poured a tremendous amount of work into building an X presence, scrapping with users, following campaigns, games, so I could prove I was worth other people's time. It takes real effort to grow when you don't have the talent. There's a reason so many stall out. I sat for a year and a half at 1450 followers without a loss or a gain and nothing seemed to change it. Then I had two breakthroughs. I had just published my second music video to middling fanfare. Then I posted a chibi form of truckerchan and one user said that picture was the best thing I had to date. At first I was livid. That music video took me 40 hours to complete just to piece all the crap together and time it to the music and my little truckerchan post was "Make me a chibi version of this shooting her gun" @WagieWeeb was right, but of course that only made me angrier. But good things come to those who humble themselves. The second breakthrough was the Skyebrows community. I was introduced largely through @EvaGlitchAI's prompt of the day. Here I was given the chance to show my wit in a way that was second nature to me. Interactive roleplay. When skill and opportunity meet success is forged with effort, and effort I already had in spades. My stall of 1450 grew to 3200 in a half a year. With that first ban I retreated to my 0 follower account. Mutuals from tech, writing, and art all found me again. I have never been more grateful, even with the stress of all my work taken away in an instant. There are real people, real intent, real stories trying to form that would have no chance otherwise. Walk into a thread, and someone might just start a comic about a cheese godzilla and roboteradactyls. The AI art community, for all its faults is about having fun and loving what we do every day. We entertain and support each other. And again as cliche as it is thank you from the bottom of my heart. I probably would have given up.

There comes a sacred, electric moment in every human life when the soul whispers, and then roars, "Enough." It sparks in the shadow of an unjust decree, in the grinding exhaustion of a broken system left to rot, or in the quiet insult of being told to wait for permission to claim a better life. That defiant "no" is not born of bitterness; it is a declaration of inherent worth. When I declare that my dignity is uncompromising, I am simultaneously defending yours, for human value is indivisible. Deference that flows in only one direction is merely submission in disguise. I begin, instead, at the altar of mutual, unshakeable respect for every man and woman. I likewise cast off the cold comfort of nihilism, the seductive lie that nothing matters and the future is already written. Cynicism is a fortress for the timid; it shields the heart from disappointment while leaving the world in ruins. My conviction is far bolder: human beings are architects of the better, and whenever history has handed us the chisels, we have carved out miracles. Trace the lineage of human power. The Enlightenment pried the scepter from the grasp of monarchs, only to place it into the hands of a moneyed elite. The Industrial Revolution forged previously unimaginable wealth, yet locked the engines of creation behind the gates of a privileged few. Every great epoch has lifted the human condition, yet each has hoarded the levers of the age inside a gilded room. Artificial intelligence is the hammer that can shatter that ancient mold. It is a boundless amplifier of human intent. For the first time in the long story of our species, the exhausted nurse, the master welder, the weathered farmer, the devoted teacher, the neighborhood shopkeeper, and the midnight student glowing in the light of a single laptop can command a tireless partner to help them learn, build, and mend. At long last, every individual can claim the helm of their own destiny. If this extraordinary force remains locked in the vaults of the few, their empires will calcify while the rest of humanity waits for crumbs. If it is scattered like seeds across the earth, every human mind becomes a powerhouse. I choose to scatter the seeds. Every life carries equal weight; every struggle deserves equal light. No distant bureaucrat or self-appointed expert should ever overrule the lived wisdom of a person navigating their own existence. Those who bleed from a problem understand its anatomy best. Arm everyday people with knowledge, instruments, and the liberty to act, and they will conquer their own crises without waiting for a savior. A hoarded breakthrough is a dying ember; a shared breakthrough is a wildfire. When solutions are laid bare in the commons, yesterdayโ€™s triumph becomes tomorrowโ€™s foundation, compounding human ingenuity into an era of shared abundance, built not by lone titans, but by millions of hands lifting one another higher. No monarch, boardroom, or institution holds the birthright to this new engine of creation. The means of intelligence must remain open, democratized, and as fiercely loyal to the plumber as to the potentate. I am a builder, not a spectator. I neither cower before the horizon nor charge blindly into the fog. I forge ahead with eyes wide open, sharing my triumphs and mending my missteps in the unforgiving light of day. Blind accelerationism hurtles into the dark and prays the road holds. I am an Exponentialist. I know that true progress catches fire only when every human being is armed to conquer their own obstacles and pass the torch to their neighbor. I say we start seizing the wheel.

Gore isn't what gets to them. Look at their PFPs and the deranged serial killer content their inattentive parents let them watch. No, what gets to them is seeing their heroes happier than they'll ever be. Make beauty.

You have no enemies, you say? Alas, my friend, the boast is poor, He who has mingled in the fray Of duty, that the brave endure, Must have made foes. If you have none, Small is the work that you have done. You've hit no traitor on the hip, You've dashed no cup from perjured lip, You've never set the wrong to right. You've been a coward in the fight. "No Enemies" by Charles Mackay

Science is NOT about people asking permission to contribute. If you have something to say, you say it. If you have a proof, you write a paper. It's always been like this. We don't need an "Advisory Group" to tell who can and who can't contribute to scientific research.

I am surprised that people are surprised this is how I prompt Claude. Talk to Claude the way you would a coworker. There's no secret to prompting. There's no need to be overly scaffolded or prescriptive for most tasks -- give Claude a goal, and it will figure it out. Back in the Sonnet 3.5 days, your prompt mattered a lot. Nowadays, it's much more important to communicate to the model: 1. What you want it to do 2. How much effort you want it to spend 3. How it should verify that it did the right thing

Americans are yearning for a legal response to AI. I think that's a big part of the political moment right now. I'm surprised it's not a bigger issue in the midterms but I think it will definitely be big by the general. I'm not trying to speak for everyone, but I'm not really interested in regulating AI development. Personally, the kind of legal guidance I want from the government about AI are things like: What are my rights with respect to AI-generated deep-fakes of my appearance or voice? What are my rights with respect to data I share with a model, and do I have different expectations of privacy for a model in the cloud as on my local machine? To what extent can I empower an AI agent to represent me? Who is liable for the actions of an AI agent in a situation where an agent causes harm? Does it vary with respect to who provided inference, or who was responsible for its workspace? If I wanted to be really forward looking, I would be looking for guidance on robot right-of-way questions, and stricter regulations for drone and other physically autonomous systems with clear guidance on their operation and use. I don't think we have any chance of solving alignment on the frontier, anyway, if we don't decide in advance what the legal and social operating environment of agents is going to be. I think its hard to train an AI how to behave properly when you don't properly know how its allowed to behave.

Physicists should put together a list of mathematically well-defined problems that could advance the field. Such as, eg, what constitutes a low-temperature superconductor, what are the lattice conditions for cold fusion (or why do they not exist), what is a local completion of quantum mechanics, what is the simplest (in terms of computational complexity) way to obtain the masses and coupling constants of the standard model, what is the UV-completion of MOND or why isn't there any, is there any provably UV-finite version of quantum gravity, etc etc

Sounds good. Letโ€™s start here: Donโ€™t ask Cybersecurity firms for help and then ignore us when we apply for access to your cyber models.
this is a critically important moment for cyber defense with AI; there is not much time to act. we are happy if you want to work with us or any of our competitors or partners, but please take this moment seriously. only an urgent and intense collective response will work.
