Disbanding the committee without even publishing Part II is not a fair decision. Just imagine the amount of hard work the entire team would have put in. The government should have thought twice before taking such a decision. It is a genuine concern, and the efforts of the team deserve to be acknowledged.

The reasoning in this order is that this is not a statutory body. But the fact is that neither the Tamil Nadu State Law Commission nor the Law Commission of India are statutory bodies; both are constituted by executive orders.
Tamil Nadu’s State Law Commission has existed from 1994 - all constituted through G.Os. Yet, in 2025, the previous Government constituted a separate High-Level Committee on Union–State Relations under Justice Kurian Joseph
