Honestly what endears me so much about Gunn & Corenswet’s take on Superman is just how drenched in his silver age characterization he is. He’s brave and kindhearted, but also just inherently silly and kinda odd. Not necessarily in character who is fully earnest, but in concept. He’s someone who can say “aw shucks”, argue with his dog (“What they hey dude!”), and talk about intergalactic zoos and annoying dimensional imps, but then contrast that with these deeply human moments like his love for Lois and his drive to help those in need. It’s how these two elements of inspiring and goofy can coexist that just really charms me in a way I’ve never really seen before in live action. And it’s all supported by David’s distinct voice that’s deep and filled with warmth that allows him to say things that are both poetic and dumb without one betraying the other. The guy is just perfect, man😭

We got your back, New York!
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Several figures here aren’t federal results or NY-specific. The $472B combines US wide pledges: Micron's $250B is nationwide (NY site $100B) Anthropic's $50B covers TX and NY. The 48% murder drop is from NY's state run GIVE program (28 departments, Jan – May 2026).

"fuck it we ball" is for stress about the future, "it is what it is" is for stress about the past and "this too shall pass" is for stress about the present

Contrary to popular belief, it's actually very easy to not use generative AI

Beat cancer, woke up, "AND ANOTHER THING about AI"
Has my genuine respect and is 100% right.

Machines are tools, not persons. Today, some propose granting these systems rights, or even legal personhood. Such an approach risks obscuring human responsibility and leaving those who suffer harm to confront a faceless entity.
We mourn the passing of Patrick Stewart, who inspired countless individuals at NASA (and beyond) to boldly go where no one has gone before.

The future of #ArtificialIntelligence is not pre-determined. As a technology developed by human beings, its future depends on the choices we make. We therefore have the responsibility to guide, change and, when necessary, reject its applications. A reliable system that serves the human person is of greater value than one that is exceptionally powerful but whose consequences cannot be adequately foreseen or controlled.
Generative AI is diluting the human experience, starving our already tech-tainted brains of creativity, passion, and thought.
Tamping down the human element from advertising, art, and communication, vital ways we express ourselves and interact with our fellow man, is only going to push us further away from each other, while flattening our world into a monotony of mindless filth.
