It’s so clear that AI-generated content is a supply in search of demand. People want things made by other people If you, like Buzzfeed Jonah, have become AI red pilled, do us all a favor and go get a tech job creating AI dashboards that show you how to read your other dashboards

Not going to litigate this, but in general, and specifically in the case of a PhD, "you can just teach yourself" is utter, complete, dangerous, right-wing, anti-education horseshit ultimately intended to attack civil society at its roots.
Also, anything you do in a PhD, you can do in your own time. With platforms like substack, research, reading, reflection, and reaching out to audiences have become democratised and widely available. The PhD is about credentialism, membership of a club deemed prestigious, baubles.

anyone who tells you that reading or writing substacks is the same kind of intellectual engagement as a phd is lying to you lmao

I would expect a professor to know that graduate students are essentially junior faculty/research fellows. Tuition remission is offered by every serious programme, and the number that the students aren't paying is entirely irrelevant.
Does this guy realize he's getting a Harvard PhD education for free (tuition is 60k per year at Harvard, and most PhD students don't pay it)? Does this guy realize the extensive margin effect of these strikes? At UCI, PhD enrollment fell 30.3% from F22 to F23 after the strike.

I’m going to write more about this, but everyone saying Texas went blue because of transplants is totally missing the point that a lot of these new residents are anti-social Republican freaks from California doing politics tourism
I've never necessarily been directly affected by an election. But after Texas turning blue we just had 3 people back out of buying our house. All from California all said we see the writing on the wall and can't live in another place like Cali. Hope the socialist talking points are worth it.

trust me bro it's gonna cure cancer bro just 100 more datacentres bro I swear just 1 trillion more investment bro honest it's gonna cure cancer bro
Slowing down AI is not just about waiting a few more years for better tech. It means losing millions of people who will die from diseases that AI could have cured.

To give people an idea of what these affidavit counts look like in Colom-Hyde Smith, I just got off the phone with the Circuit Clerk in Scott County. Total vote? 3830 Colom, 3933 Hyde-Smith. Total affidavits? 105. Colom took EIGHTY FIVE OF THEM. In a county he *lost*.
