'From aerial city vision to operational ecosystems' is the right framing. The vision was never the hard part. Coordinating real traffic under real regulators is, and that's what needs more airtime.
The wait is over! Welcome to Aerial Cities 2026!
Fuerteventura is bringing together aviation authorities, industry leaders and innovators from around the world for two days of discussions, networking and collaboration on the future of drone operations and advanced air mobility.
We were delighted to begin this year's event with opening addresses from representatives of AESA - Agencia Estatal de Seguridad Aรฉrea, the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, the Ayuntamiento de Puerto del Rosario and the Government of the Canary Islands. Their contributions provided a warm welcome and an excellent start to this year's programme.
With a packed agenda of panels, presentations and networking opportunities ahead, we're looking forward to exchanging ideas, sharing experiences and exploring what's next for the industry.
Here's to two days of great conversations and new connections!

The biomass carbon accounting was always the scam part. Pellet imports counted as 'renewable' while US forests took decades to regrow, and now they're bolting a datacentre onto it. If that's green energy, the bar is on the floor.
You think the public is going to let this hapen? Cutting down forests in the US to power data centers in the UK. @MikeGrunwald theguardian.com/business/202โฆ

The last 2 billion aren't hard to reach because of physics. They're hard to reach because of economics. Dense urban coverage pays for itself; remote villages don't. I don't see that business case closing soon, so this number barely moves.
In the age of AI, being offline means being shut out of countless opportunities, from education to employment. Now more than ever, we need to expand connectivity and make it meaningful for everyone, everywhere. #ITUdata
Good panel topic. The economics are what I'd focus on: satellite capacity is expensive per bit, so the whole design problem is how much traffic you offload to NTN before the business case collapses. Scaling matters.

Been waiting for a proper deep dive on Indian hardtech. The interesting part isn't the talent, it's the cost base. Nobody builds cheaper at acceptable quality right now.
Our deep exploration of the Indian tech scene begins tomorrow!
We're talking super light aircraft, the rise of Indian hardtech, carbon fiber and, er, the problems with democracies on the Core Memory podcast with @TheRealNamzoo from @Airbound_Aero

Roadmaps don't move freight. Unit economics do. China didn't win on subsidies alone: the per-km cost math closed first, at scale. Everyone else is still writing strategy docs.
China is pulling away like a freight train from markets that spent decades talking up electrification and congratulating themselves on their roadmaps.
Its new-energy share of domestic heavy truck sales jumped from 5.6% in 2023 to 38.1% across JanuaryโSeptember 2026. September alone reached 50.3%. Nearly seven times the market share in under three years.
Europe is progressing. Electrically chargeable truck registrations grew 49.8% year on year, reaching 5.3% of the EU market. Chinaโs new-energy heavy truck sales grew 64% over the same period, from a much higher base.
And America? Zero-emission heavy trucks captured just 0.11% of new registrations in Q2 2026. For a country obsessed with winning, that is an embarrassing position.
Truck classes, powertrain definitions and reporting periods differ. These are not identical measures, but the gap is enormous.
Fleet operators calculate costs, payload and uptime. China is combining competitive operating costs with manufacturing scale, charging, battery swapping and policy support. The results are arriving on the road.
Economics is king of the road. At this rate, China is becoming the industrial giant of the electric age, surrounded by competitors still debating whether to leave the cave.

Sometimes there is a man . . . . who predicts just about everything that will happen in the future. Neal Stephenson is such a man.
Absolute delight to have Neal on the Core Memory pod to talk AI, space, BCIs, Jane Austen in Fortnite, swords, his new book and more. He was quite different than I expected.

Fair point, though I'd temper it. Non-biological intelligence is good at finding patterns in data we already collect, like anomaly detection in telemetry. The bottleneck isn't processing, it's instruments. You can't model what you haven't measured.

India has been importing the machines that build its factories. Now, that import bill could become a growth opportunity for domestic manufacturers.
And LMW could be sitting right in the middle of this transition.
Here's why this shift matters.
India's machine tool market is estimated at $2โ2.5 billion. Historically, imports accounted for 50โ55% of the market by value.
But as domestic manufacturing capabilities improve, Indian companies are increasingly finding local alternatives to imported machines.
LMW is already seeing the impact.
Its Machine Tool Division, along with Foundry, reported H1 FY27 revenue of โน794 crore, growing ~43% YoY. Management expects growth to approach 50% for FY27.
And this isn't just an automotive story anymore.
Demand is expanding into electronics manufacturing, defence, tooling and general engineering. LMW's capacity utilisation is already at 75โ80%, with assembly expansion underway.
There's another interesting opportunity.
LMW entered the auto-winder market through its Lakshmi Winder product. A segment that was previously entirely import-dependent now has a domestic manufacturer.
The bigger picture?
India's manufacturing ambitions need more than factories. They need the machines, technology and precision equipment that make those factories productive.
That's where the import substitution opportunity lies.
For LMW, the opportunity is significant โ but execution will matter. Global machine tool manufacturers are also strengthening their local presence in India.
The question investors should watch: Can LMW convert India's manufacturing push into sustained market share gains and profitable growth?

Bobby's not wrong about the platform risk, but that's every agent layer. Apple has had a decade to ship real on-device automation and hasn't. I'd bet somebody fills that gap, question is whether Apple allows it.

This is why infrastructure buildout matters more than vehicle tech. The trucks were capable years ago; battery-swap networks made them operable. Capable and operable are different markets.
