Update: I passed Step 1! 🙌🏿It’s so funny how after a year of studying for it, it felt like this huge monumental event. Now that I passed and it’s over no one cares anymore 😂 just on to rotations now.

The British academic journal @TheLancet just published a correspondence that estimated the actual death toll in Gaza could be up to 186,000 human beings. I can’t tell you how critical it is that traditional academic journals are publishing evidence-based pieces like this one.
So excited to be in NOLA for #AMEC2024 in a couple of days!

This is my dear friend, Nakita.
Nakita and I were medical school classmates and both interns in New York City. Nakita tragically took her own life on May 26.
She is such a beautiful soul. She was so fun to be around. She was intelligent, charismatic, and confident. (1/x)

So happy for my mentor Olivia! Her help was instrumental when I was in the med school application process. She’ll be a phenomenal surgeon one day 🤩

As a first-gen in medicine, it breaks my heart that my dad can't have the honor to hood me during my med school graduation. My success is very much his and I know how much this would mean to him.
I'm not sure what kind of message it sends that this honor only goes to doctorates.

In this new @jamanetwork study of more than 33,000 allopathic MD-only medical students who identified as underrepresented in medicine race and ethnicity, had low income, and were from under resourced backgrounds were more likely to leave medical school.

I don’t understand why med schools contact/court you if they don’t have any real intention of even interviewing you. At best it’s misleading and at worst it’s deception.
