For refusing the imperial purple, unlike Napoleon decades on, Washington should go down as not just the greatest president, but greater than the sum of all the presidents that follow. Not for what he did after becoming president, but for his abdication while king in all but name.
In 1783, King George III asked an American painter what George Washington would do now that he had virtually won the war. The painter replied that the General intended to return to his farm in Virginia. The King was stunned. He reportedly said, "If he does that, he will be the greatest man in the world."
Throughout history, victorious generals almost always seized the throne. From Caesar to Cromwell, military success usually meant political dictatorship. The concept of voluntarily walking away from absolute power was practically unheard of. But George Washington wasn't like other men.
By December 4, 1783, the British surrender at Yorktown was past, and peace was finally assured. Washington commanded a powerful, seasoned army that adored him. Conversely, many of his officers were unpaid and angry at the inefficient Congress. They had the guns, the manpower, and the loyalty to install a new monarch. He could have been King George I of America.
Instead, on this day in history, Washington walked into the Long Room at Fraunces Tavern in lower Manhattan. The room was filled with his most loyal officers—men like Henry Knox and Baron von Steuben—who had frozen with him at Valley Forge and bled with him for eight long years.
The atmosphere wasn't celebratory. It was heavy with inevitable separation. Washington, usually stoic and commercially reserved, poured a glass of wine and looked at his brothers-in-arms with visible emotion. "With a heart full of love and gratitude, I now take leave of you," he said, his voice shaking. "I most devoutly wish that your latter days may be as prosperous and happy as your former ones have been glorious and honorable." He didn't order them. He didn't demand their allegiance. He hugged them.
One by one, the hardened soldiers wept openly. Washington embraced each man in silence. There was no pomp, no ceremony, and no speeches about future conquests. It was just a quiet goodbye between warriors who had done the impossible. Immediately after leaving the tavern, Washington didn't march on Congress to demand payment or power. He rode to Annapolis, Maryland, resigned his commission, and went home to Mount Vernon to plant crops.
He did the impossible.
He refused the crown.
He trusted the people.
By stepping down, he ensured that the United States would be a republic ruled by laws, not a kingdom ruled by force. He proved that the military serves the people, not the other way around. It was the final, and perhaps greatest, victory of the Revolution.
The world watched in awe as the American Cincinnatus returned his sword to its sheath, proving that character is the strongest constitution of all."

The Biden administration created a program out of thin air to deliberately fly in hundreds of thousands of migrants
... from 4 specific countries—where it was technically impossible to vet incoming migrants' criminal histories
Haiti has a homicide rate 10 x higher than the U.S.
NEW: Multiple DHS sources confirm to @FoxNews that the suspect charged w/ murdering a Walmart manager in Philadelphia, PA on Wednesday is a Haitian illegal alien who flew into the U.S. via former President Biden's CHNV mass parole migrant flights program in 2023. Per sources, 23-year-old Destino Jean-Louis flew into the US on 11/24/2023 via Fort Lauderdale International Airport, and his legal status was revoked on 6/12/2025 after President Trump terminated the program.
According to investigators, Jean-Louis had previously been married to the victim he killed as part of an immigration-related sham marriage arrangement that was designed to help get him get a green card in the US. But after DHS denied the application in July, the victim, Latosha Cooper, withdrew the petition and cut off contact with him, and Jean-Louis became angry. He is accused of shooting Cooper in the head outside of the Walmart on Wednesday after finding out about her work schedule. He previously worked at the Walmart with her. The DA in Montgomery County, PA has now charged him with murder.

Brazil.
The odd part is they actually thought they needed to put a fig leaf on an utterly obvious power grab.
Judge Alexandre de Moraes signed an order demanding Bolsonaro hand over his passport WITHIN SEVEN MINUTES of the close of voting. Before votes had even been counted.
What did he know about the vote results that enabled him to make this order within seven minutes of polls closing - seemingly confident that Bolsonaro had already lost?

To show how bad this is, Tolkien's Orcs are Original Sin & *worse* writ large. They're the products of a twisted, evil mind, who wants to control Creation through his own corruption of others' creations. Making them all loveydovey, relatable & justifiable is to justify corruption
[NEWS] “Marnûkh is a character meant to challenge long-held perceptions of Orcs. He’s such a departure from past depictions that within the production, Marnûkh has picked up the catchy nickname, “the Orc with an arc.”

The “climate crisis” is the biggest scam in scientific history. There's not one shred of empirical evidence that we are facing a crisis because the planet is slightly warmer than it was during the depths of the Little Ice Age.
When I became @UN Secretary-General, climate change was already an enormous threat.
Today, its impacts are all around us.
And those who did the least to cause the climate crisis are paying the highest price.
We need climate justice. Now.

Rubio and Hegseth make my vote for Trump worth it even if I didn’t get anything else I wanted. I mean, I did get some other good things from it, but those two are great.
Secretary Pete Hegseth is the best thing to happen to our military in decades. 🇺🇸
Thanks to President Trump, he is rebuilding the Arsenal of Freedom right here at home, with American workers, American jobs and American manufacturing putting American industry back on top.
A strong America keeps the peace, and our troops finally have leaders who have their backs.
God bless our military, and God bless the United States of America! 🙏🇺🇸

There are major questions about how Flavio Bolsonaro left Brazil this morning with his family for the US without detection by Brazil.
All morning, Brazilian authorities were utterly confused and clueless. As rumors circulated that Bolsonaro had left Brazil, they had no idea if it was true. At one point, they thought they had located a plane in Argentina, but Bolsonaro wasn't on it. That seems to have been a decoy.
Some Brazilian media outlets are now reporting that the US Govt did not merely agree to allow Bolsonaro to enter, but actively planned, participated in and even executed the exit of Bolsonaro and his family from Brazil to the US: meaning that it was a covert extraction operation by US officials carried out right under the noses of Brazilian intelligence and law-enforcement agencies, who had no idea it was happening.
(Bolsonaro has now arrived in the US, but the secrecy of all this means the US Govt has not publicly spoken on it. Everyone, including me, is working on finding out their version).
There are lots of questions for both governments, some pretty serious implications as well, and ultimately lots of embarrassment for Brazilian officials no matter how it happened (to say nothing of the authoritarian and anti-democratic stench of having Brazil's globally notorious tyrannical judge order the passport seizure of Lula's opponent a mere 7 minutes after Lula was declared the winner).

Eileen Nearne MBE, known by her SOE codename "Rose," served as a wireless operator conducting covert operations in Nazi-occupied France during the Second World War, transmitting vital intelligence for the Resistance.
Captured by the Gestapo, she was deported to Ravensbrück concentration camp, where she refused to undertake forced labour. In retaliation, she was brutally punished: her head shaved and threatened with execution for her defiance.
She was later transferred to a forced-labour sub-camp in Silesia, enduring further hardship and reported torture.
On 13 April 1945, Eileen escaped with two French women by slipping away from a work detail and hiding in a nearby forest.
She survived the war and thereafter led a reclusive life.
In 1993, she returned to Ravensbrück with fellow SOE veterans to dedicate a plaque in memory of the four agents executed there in 1945.

"How would THAT work, Evil Scrote?!!"
I mean, I like both sexes, and it's not my field, but a dozen ideas come to mind immediately. At the most brutal, just end welfare subsidies for single moms with multiple 'illegitimate' kids today: go find a daddy, not an Uncle. Higher up the class ladder: make corporate (non-commission) pay contingent on ACTUAL hours and weeks worked. No long unpunished leaves for anything.
Boost pay for soldiers/troops - still 2-3% of the male pop. on a rotating annual basis. Give large tax bonuses to men willing to marry - and thus become heads of blended households, with all the attached modern liabilities and divorce risks. Refuse to give loans to enrollees in degree fields where these are rarely paid back, or even where they lead to executive but negative-value jobs.
We spend trillions subsidizing women, minorities, and for that matter whites vs Asians etc. We could just...not.
Etc etc.
Will we do any of this?
Probably not.

An awkward but very very obvious reality is that giving LESS public/welfare/etc money to women and MORE money to men - not vice versa - would boost the birth rate.
By far the most common, stated desire of sexual adult women is a higher income, gennnerally more dom male partner.

Libi Cohen-Meguri was murdered on October 7th at just 22 years old.
She went to dance at the Nova festival and was shot by Hamas terrorists while trying to escape on Route 232.
At 8:11 AM, she called her parents:
“I’ve been shot in the stomach, I’ve been shot in the arm, I’m losing blood. I’m going to die.”
In calm and heartbreaking words, she understood the end had come.
She asked to speak to her twin brother Tomer and little sister Maya:
“I’m going to die. Just listen.
I love you, Yariv — the best dad I could’ve had.
Mom, please stop screaming, just listen — you’re the best mom we could have asked for.
Don’t forget to be a good mom to Tomer and Maya.
Tomer, how lucky we were to live life together. I love you.
Maya, never forget you are the treasure of my life.”
Her parents begged her to lie on the road and pretend to be dead. She did.
But the terrorists saw her move.
“Mom, they’re coming to shoot me again...”
Screams in Arabic. A long burst of gunfire.
And the call was cut.
Alone on the road divider, her body was riddled with bullets at point-blank range.
Murdered in cold blood.
But Libi was light. Joy. Love.
A proud and outstanding IDF infantry officer, full of life and laughter, always giving to others.
Her photos radiate kindness.

一场是 1812 年拿破仑打莫斯科;

Here's what in the bill proposal:
• Double the EV credit for new EV purchases from $7,500 to $15,000.
• Double the used EV credit from $4,000 to $8,000.
• Lower income thresholds for new EV tax credits:
- Married filing jointly: $225,000 (down from $300,000)
- Head of household: $169,000 (down from $225,000)
- Single filers: $112,500 (down from $150,000)
• This bill would make all these tax incentives permanent.
