Victor Davis Hanson: The Midterms Could Surprise the Democrats As the 2026 midterm elections approach, the political landscape is more complicated than the polls suggest. Democrats are counting on President Donald Trumpโ€™s approval ratings to deliver a major victory, but historical trends, economic uncertainty, voter turnout and the changing makeup of their party could all shape the outcome. Will Democrats get the decisive win they expect, or could November bring a surprise? @VDHanson

Aside from the great "The Lives Of Others," can you think of a single *western* feature film since the fall of Communism that explores its horrors? "The Death of Stalin" (also great) is a black comedy. I mean a serious drama. What am I missing?

The real American backed coup in Iran was not 1953. It was 1979. Khomeini was a Democrat installed puppet. Everything you've been taught about Iran, starting with Mossadegh, has been a lie aimed at normalising the demonic islamic regime.

Communists have been spoiled brat rich kids since forever. Engels father was a factory owner. Marx came from the educated professional class. Vast majority of DSA are rich kids. Feature not a bug. Commies HATE white people like Evan or JD Vance who wonโ€™t shuck & Jive & do a white minstrel show, throwing their own people under the bus the way Hicklib transplants to the Big City make a big performance of doing (Matt Christman). If youโ€™re from poor white stock & you wonโ€™t throw your entire family under the bus, you will almost instantly be clocked as an enemy. Youโ€™re a complete and total liability. Youโ€™re a reactionary. A Fascist. Youโ€™re wholly unsuited to Democrat or leftist politics of any variety. Because white liberals and leftists of all stripes hate white people & want them disenfranchised, fent addicted, genocided & replaced with 3rd world browns. So unless youโ€™re uncritically & enthusiastically committed to that underlying ethos, political program and the various policy arms that implement it, you are an enemy of the left. Thatโ€™s how they see the world.
Says the bourgeois nepo baby larping as some kind of working class revolutionary. Iโ€™m the real deal bitch, lived in the trailer parks of Missouri & faced 100x more adversity than you ever have in your pampered existence. And btw, @hasanthehun Mao would see right thru your fake ass BS and send you to the countryside

My brother's bathtub overflowed last night and flooded the bathroom. To keep it out of the bedroom he tried lying down in the doorway, but it didn't work. The water just ran under him. Lesson learned: He ain't a levee, he's my brother.

Abdul is not the only Muslim to run for the Senate. Mehmet Oz ran in 2024. No one ran against Oz because heโ€™s a Muslim. Thatโ€™s because Oz didnโ€™t call Israel Bloodthirsty. Oz didnโ€™t write an oped urging support for the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. Oz didnโ€™t have donors who belonged to the MB. Oz didnโ€™t blame terrorism on the policies of the US. And Oz didnโ€™t justify a terrorist on a synagogue. This race isnโ€™t about Abdulโ€™s faith. Itโ€™s about his extremist ideas.

Ilhan's family had to flee Africa because her father ran the brutal dictatorship in Somalia as a colonel overseeing outrageous atrocities. They weren't fleeing oppression. They WERE the oppression. She brought those good ol' Mogadishu family values to Minnesota.
EXCLUSIVE: Senior U.S. officials tell @Newsmax the federal probe into the mysterious past of @Ilhan Omar is being driven by the Human Rights Violators and War Crimes Unit (HRVWCU) @DHSgov, and that investigators are examining whether Omar's father committed war crimes in his native Somalia. Tune into NEWSMAX starting at noon ET for more of my reporting.

The funniest thing would be if Acton wins & we learn that her mother was secretly backing her as a "Witness for the Prosecution", knowing that her trashy self would be discredited. If that's what she's doing, it's working.

Her entire religious muslim hijabi thing happened way later in her life. And l will bet money she only changed up to score oppression points in politics and appeal to jihadi constituents.
I can never get this clip from a 2019 doc out of my head when thinking about Ilhan Omarโ€™s marriages. This is her real husband, who was in love with her. He quit his job so she could run for office. She of course left him for her white political consultant in DC. Awful person.

The Dems are flooding prediction markets with bad bets to shift perceptions of reality. It only would cost $200,000 to change Talaricoโ€™s odds from 50 to 67% Thatโ€™s a fraction of the 114 million spent on Talaricos campaign and more effective than road signs. People donโ€™t believe polls but prediction markets create more certainty, because who would throw away money right? The best we can do is make their marketing stunt as expensive as possible by placing more bets on Paxton and collecting. Once election results hit the odds will be revealed to have been way off base and the Dems will use it as a call to regulate prediction markets.
BREAKING: James Talarico surges to new all-time high in odds to win the Texas Senate race. 67% chance Talarico flips Texas blue. ๐Ÿ”— polymarket.com/r/TexasSenate

Actually, JVS (Jewish Vocational Services) is the largest refugee resettlement outfit in the KC metro and is a partner with Adam Hamilton's Church of the Resurrection. CoR also partners with Della Lamb, which along with Catholic Charities resettles the next highest numbers in the KC metro. Mission Adelante is a smaller player, also a partner with CoR. When federal funds were cut off, CoR stepped up donation efforts. In 2025 they even designated the first $100k of a ministry fund to JVS as an Easter gift. That's only one donation, but Hamilton has certainly been a key contributor to this effort, bringing all 24k members of his congregation to the table.
Know how Catholic charities and the churches were the major people who helped bring illegals into America? Wait until the largest Methodist church pastor gets into office. He will too become the largest human trafficker in America.

There's a large Vietnamese community in France ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท. Vietnam was a French colony that was ruled more directly and for longer than Algeria in many respects. Vietnamese kids top the French education rankings, have some of the lowest unemployment of any immigrant group, and somehow managed not to set Paris on fire. Weird how some use โ€œcolonial traumaโ€ as a reason to succeed and others treat it as a reason to riot
American-Egyptian activist Eman Mabrouk celebrates the riots in France: ''I think burn it all down, stop sucking European Master's dicks, liberation isn't going to be pretty, it's going to cost blood, it's going to cost lives.'' Really cool how this third world bio-weapon somehow gets a piece of paper calling her American even as she agitates for race war against white people. 70,000 Instagram likes! Also really fucking cool that so-called ''Australian'' citizen Dr. Mo Mustafa - widely known as the "Beast from the Middle East'' - collaborated with her on this Instagram reel. He calls himself an Australian for the benefits of the passport while endorsing videos like this which call for explicit race war against Europeans. Western immigration policy has been a catastrophe for decades, how the fuck did these people get passports when they hate us this much.

There was no "islamic golden age". The Arabs invaded accomplished, high IQ civilisations and appropriated science, art, poetry and achievements - taking credit for something they could never pull off themselves. Almost everything produced and achieved during this era was by non-Arabs who were arguably only muslim on paper.
