This interview of @AloikinOpoloje has rubbed the sycophants the wrong way. Apparently they did her a favor and released her thinking she will be remorseful. Now the threats are in high gear. I am featured in those threats so many times as the person influencing her. And they add that those influencing us like @kizzabesigye1 and @HEBobiwine already became rich or some nonsense like that. As if Praise has no agency of her own, has no eyes to see the gross human rights violations that she is calling out, as if, like them, she has no brain to tell right from wrong! Apparently, the old man being roughed up in the video was trying to stop state agents from abducting his children—a practice becoming disturbingly common in Uganda. Many of those abducted have not been heard from in a long time.
Politicians are too afraid of losing their jobs to speak out. And the sanctimonious religious conmen masquerading as pastors prophets and preachers—parading in long robes and oversized crosses every Sunday—have nothing to say. They are still waiting to hear from God. They are the very sort of religious leaders Jesus rebuked in Mark 12:38–40 and Luke 20:46–47. They seem to hear from Him only when it is time to collect tithes, or when someone calls out their hypocrisy.

At any Ugandan university, law students are routinely confronted with this examination question:
"Discuss the view that the silence, inaction, or complicity of lawyers and judges between 1971 and 1979 played a fundamental role in sustaining President Idi Amin's atrocious regime for eight years."
Isn't it deeply unsettling that in a few years, a nearly identical question may well be asked about the current generation of judicial officers, lawyers and other professionals? 🤔
To see that Dr. Kizza Besigye and Hon. Lukwago have made impassioned pleas for bail on medical grounds for several months, and yet remain trapped in jail as their health deteriorates is beyond comprehension!

Habibi, there's something easy to miss in Gashumba’s pushback against fake pastors, it has to do with the Anti-Homosexuality Act.
When Anita Among & her people were pushing for the Act, I said it here - tweet below - that it would be a GOOD THING in the long run!
Now, every time Gashumba attacks the pastor who “opens boot”, he makes sure to remind listeners that he is NOT against consensual, adult, same sex relations. In another video he even said, “homosexual are NOT easy and I don't want a war with them…” As in, the man would rather pick a battle with much-dreaed Balokole community than with the Ugandan gay community whom he set out to annihilate for Uganda! For Uganda’s gay community, that's HUGE!
We are now at stage where erstwhile unknown young gay people turn up for music concerts and have the time of their lives week-in-week out - despite the Act being fully in effect! Meanwhile, only a handful of people have been arrested, and prosecuted under the law! There's NOT A SINGLE CONVICTION to the best of my knowledge.
When all is said and done, the Ugandan gay community need to built a BIG MONUMENT FOR Anita Among. No one has done more for their freedom - as an unintended consequence, of course - than ANNET ANITA AMONG MAGOGO in the last 40 years!
However, Among did nothing new. It is the law of nature; persecute any group so hard, and you’ll help them become even more emboldened in the long run.
The First Family has been persecuting young TikToks for saying basic things since 2022. They went after all of them, then we ended up with @AloikinOpoloje saying very bold things from out of the blue! When they arrested Praise, hundreds of other people made videos in her defence, even worse than hers. Same thing for NUP; it always seems crashed and finished with thousands arrested, tens dead, hundreds in exile, but it just won't die and most likely will be stronger in years to come…
There’s a whole group of people on Twitter that now believes @martinssempa is out here to “spread homosexuality” through “reverse psychology”. Don’t think that’s true, but it’s an interesting view.
All said and done, all this talk about homosexuality being at the centre of our national conversation is good for Uganda’s sexual minorities in the long run, I think. In the short run, the AHA is bad as it has put queer Ugandans at grave risk, but in the long run it will be good.
Someone recently pointed out that Hitler killed no less than 100,000 suspected gay people, only for Berlin to emerge as “The Gay Capital of the World”. Maybe Uganda will be the undisputed gay people’s capital in Africa 2040 or 2050.
Normally, when a group of people is targeted by society, they go underground and organize. That explains the Jewish strength, the Tutsi strength, and why the so-called “born agains” are unstopped in Uganda today, even when Amin targeted them so hard.
So when Uganda becomes the place-to-be for gay people in Africa, it will be partly thanks to the American conservatives behind Among, Opendi, and Ssempa. Not that this was their original intention though…

In October 2023, three men attacked Sergeant Major Robert Kabera on Rubaga Road in Kampala. When he shouted for help, they ran to a black car with no number plates and drove off. Before leaving, they told him: "Even if you run to America, we will find you and kill you."
His village council reported it to Old Kampala @PoliceUg Station in writing. That was the second time. In 2021 he had already written that his life was in danger, and his local leaders had begged @Refugees to protect him.
Two documented warnings. One attack with an explicit death threat, reported to police. And three years later, Robert was found dead outside Kampala.
@PoliceUg, was the 2023 attack ever investigated? Were those men identified? Was the car traced? @Refugees @UNHCRUganda, after an attack and a death threat against a registered refugee, what protection was offered? Robert didn't die without warning. He died after warning everyone, more than once.

It’s nothing short of a tragedy that Olara Otunnu’s @Olara_Otunnu bid to become the next UN Secretary-General is being sabotaged by the very regime that once claimed to “second” him for the job.
Uganda’s government has been flouting basic human rights while, disturbingly, Gen. Museveni’s son and CDF Muhoozi has been posting graphic images of torture victims on social media. And now, the Foreign Affairs Minister is publicly threatening to withdraw Uganda from the ICC.
When the backers of a candidate show contempt for international norms and values, the message is unmistakable and the precedent is poisonous. Olara Otunnu’s own “mother country” appears determined to derail his candidacy. Shameful, and deeply damaging.

Some injuring in the ankle areas or feet are felt and not observed such as those meted on AA @AAgather in TZ! It becomes a task to reconcile the victims pain and debunking of a statement. Just a few months ago, the nation was debating a radical Sovereignty bill only for it to be passed into law by the Museveni regime.
Fast-forward to today: we have cabinet ministers and ambassadors holding foreign citizenships, while the @UgandaCranes compile a squad with seven foreign recruits.
At least, we’re told, this is “targeting” the right people.… because somehow it’s always easier to eliminate critics than fix standards.
