3.5 years ago I decided to take action for a cause I cared about which ended up going global.
3.5 years later I stood on a #TEDx stage in front of 1800 people and told them all about it.
Hoping it inspires less lip service and more action👇🏾

Do NOT share the live stream or video. On social OR private messages. It’s what the terrorists wanted.
May Allah grant the victims peace. My heart is with their loved ones and all the Muslims around the world whose open hearts have closed a little today 💔

Another amazing piece of care from @RefugeesAtHome: a young asylum seeker, scared and homeless, sleeping in a tent until a few days ago. Brought to us this week, and now safe and warm with hosts. Thank you.

Dinner was delicious! Here’s the next bit: when a PoC or a trans woman is talking, listen with an open mind and heart. Naturally, we should always do our best to be good listeners, but especially so with people from marginalized groups.

Take the yarn you bought from that socially conscious business and make refugee hats! (And other things.) donate them to your local chapter of the @theIRC, or @knitaid. Make a #welcomeblanket, if that’s more your speed.

Our knitting workshop for resettled young refugees today in London was, as always, a huge success. Well done to all of our knitters, who are possibly the fastest learners we've ever taught! #knitaid
