SPEECH BY THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF PRESIDENT TINUBU’S RE-ELECTION CAMPAIGN, ABDUL AZIZ YARI AT THE FLAG OFF OF THE PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN IN KADUNA TODAY SATURDAY 24TH OCTOBER 2026 Mr President, we are in Kaduna not by mistake or by error, but by deliberate choice. We have chosen Kaduna as the venue for this important gathering and the flag-off of the campaign for the 2027 presidential election. Mr President, what you are witnessing today is not a waste of resources. It is the result of the collective efforts of APC governors across Nigeria, who have worked together to ensure that this campaign flag-off becomes a colourful and successful event. As I mentioned recently, the governors have made tremendous efforts, particularly our host governor, who has been here for the past 10 days, working with others to make this gathering a success. Mr President, yesterday, I was with the National Chairman and our youth team. We discussed the activities of the opposition, who have resorted to spreading falsehoods through artificial intelligence (AI). They continue to rely on AI-generated content and misinformation, but elections in Nigeria are not won through lies. They will not win the election by deceiving Nigerians. They claim that your administration does not support farmers and that you hate farmers. That is not true. We have clear evidence of what your administration has done, what it intends to do and what it continues to do for farmers. The farmers themselves understand the truth. By God’s grace, about two million farmers have made a commitment to vote for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, in sha Allah. Mr President, here in Kaduna, the political centre of Northern Nigeria, we have gathered with the governors of the region to acknowledge what your administration has been doing. We have seen the changes on the ground, and we know the challenges you inherited when you assumed office. We recognise the difficult decisions your administration has taken to reposition the Nigerian economy. Mr President, we have seen significant changes in the country’s economic indicators. The exchange rate, which was approaching N1,800 to the dollar at a point, has improved to about N1,300, according to the figures presented. Similarly, our foreign reserves, which were previously about $3.9 billion, have recorded a substantial increase. The figures cited show reserves of about $54.7 billion. These are developments that deserve recognition, alongside the continuing challenges Nigerians face. We have continued to engage our communities, traditional rulers, elders, imams and other influential stakeholders to explain the importance of the 2027 election and the need for peace. We believe in your leadership, Mr President, and we are committed to mobilising our people in support of your administration. Mr President, Northern Nigeria is fully committed to your re-election. We are confident that the people of the region will support Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, in sha Allah. The governors and their respective state structures are working hard, and we are determined to consolidate these efforts to secure victory at the polls. We will defeat those who depend on AI-generated misinformation and false claims to mislead the public. Our campaign will be based on the achievements of your administration, our engagement with the people and our commitment to delivering the message of continuity. Mr President, our political journey has spanned several parties and political realignments over the past 30 years, from the AD and other political platforms to the CPC and the APC. Through these different phases, we have remained committed to our political convictions and to the leadership we believe can move Nigeria forward. Mr President, we are here to reaffirm our loyalty, our commitment and our determination to work with you. With unity, focus and the support of our people, we believe victory is achievable in the 2027 general election, in sha Allah.
