Jeeze! Another video of Etna's eruption yesterday.
It doesn't look real but it is! 👀

Hudson Bay sea ice is rapidly melting. We'll see what it means for polar bears that would continue fattening well into summer if the ice persists. I suspect a challenging ice-free season. Bears we sampled this spring were all 2 or 3 /5 in body condition. Lower than 2024.

It's years since I've been to Qikiqtaruk (Herschel Island) & it was associated with polar bear research. Article by @LeylandCecco is a startling reminder of the impacts of climate change in the Arctic. It never was "just polar bears" nor is it now.

About 26 thousand liters of water are needed per minute to cool the lava. Work on cooling the lava at the #Svartsengi dams has been going very well and will continue for the next few days. Cooling to continue for the next 24 hours

Western Hudson Bay polar bears are still stuck on land. None of the bears we're tracking have moved much. Two bears have moved north looking for sea ice (it forms in the northwest earlier) but there's not much ice. It's cooling down but some serious cold is needed soon.
