Mayor Deegan gave a great speech, from what I saw on social media. Angie Nixon builds bridges. This is a woman I’ve known for nearly 20 years, and we’ve been on the same side of any number of fights over those years. Sometimes we disagree, but even in those moments I respect the principled and thoughtful leader she’s become. Florida should send her to the Senate to work for us all.
'Show up for people who are showing up for us.' .@DonnaDeegan rallies for @AngieNixon, @DavidJollyFL. Reporting by @AGGancarski #FlaPol floridapolitics.com/archives…

46.5% of the GOP registered voter pool voted in-person early in 2024 54.4% of GOP voters picked this method in 2024 In 2026, they are struggling to get their voters out via this vote method: 10 days in out of 14 total, only 17.5% of the GOP registered voter pool has voted in-person early
Voting today was not the uptick in voting Republicans needed. The total vote today was less GOP than yesterday; just GOP +5. Republicans hold a 1.3% lead in votes cast, with a 9% turnout gap favoring Democrats. Compare this with 2024 and how red the electorate was then #flapol

The Senate race in the Gret Stet just got interesting - President Trump is doing an Election Eve rally for Julia Letlow (he carried Louisiana 60-38%).
Trump announces he’s doing a tele-rally for #LASEN nominee Julia Letlow on the eve of the election. Mike Johnson will join

Exactly. Also, people are terrified of underestimating Republicans but seem fine with massively underestimating Democrats. This even applies to pollsters (ie the insane Marist LV screenings) It's cowardly

A lot of people just have 2018-2024 PTSD and rather than look at the data (and even the vibes this year!) are just stuck in the idea that we’re permanently an R+20 state now or something (and these are typically out of staters which makes it extra infuriating)

A lot of people's current takes about the Florida elections are gonna age very very poorly. If you claim to be an analyst and go more off of vibes of "Oh well of course we aren't winning Florida" than the data, I think that's fairly disappointing

Love him or hate him, DeSantis is a smart guy and he's politically savvy. He expressed concern all the way back in February when Taylor Rehmet won his state senate election in Texas, and what he's noticing now is legitimate.

There's a real problem with this Times Peltola story: I don't know how you can write this story without any mention of Republican support for Eric and Carol Hafner in 2024 and 2026. That's crucial context for how both parties try to game the top 4 ballot. And given the staff

4:30pm update White: 57.09% Black: 27.21% It is currently 1.3% less white and 0.65% more black compared to the same time yesterday From 5pm, the votes are mostly from metro ATL counties, so expect the white vote share to drop quickly from here
Georgia, 2:30pm White: 57.56% Black: 26.93% Expect the gap to narrow from now to 4:30pm, then rapidly from the 5:30pm update

The House was always competitive. The funding and attention never matched the potential.
Really the eye popping number here is the D+7 state house ballot. If that is anywhere near accurate, the state house is more than likely competitive. Final predictions coming this weekend.

Georgia Democrats need to net 10 seats to flip the state House. I wrote this story in August highlighting the 8 House races in the spotlight. But the map is now expanding, with Democrats confident of reaching deeper in the suburbs. Gift link: #gapol ajc.com/politics/2026/08/dem…
