“Cellular scaling laws in the mammalian brain” by Fei Chen & Evan Macosko is out in Cell! It dovetails with many of the neuro ideas I’m always pushing, but in the context of transcriptomics and psych. Thanks Fei & Evan for lots of great conversations while they were working on this! @insitubiology cell.com/cell/fulltext/S0092…

We developed an imaging-free spatial genomics technology where DNA barcodes diffuse to connect locally. Using UMAP, we reconstructed the physical locations of these barcodes, transforming spatial transcriptomics into purely molecular biology. biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

How do genetic perturbations change cells? How are these effects shaped by cell type and dosage? How do we best extract insight from modern massive perturbation atlases? Im pleased to share a new preprint where we develop a suite of statistical approaches to these Qs (link below)

The perennial question of neurodegeneration is "why some neurons, not others?" Our work (@macosko, @abdul_squared, et al, myself), in @NatureNeuro, has led us to believe that the answer, for Parkinson's disease, lies in the genetics: nature.com/articles/s41593-0… And,two things: (1/4)

Excited to share our paper published in @NatureNeuro. With #scRNAseq, machine learning, and #Slideseq, we were able to reconstruct the mouse olfactory glomerular map and explore the potential mechanism of how this map is formed. @UMassChan @ProgMolMed nature.com/articles/s41593-0…
