If you want to go fast, go alone, but if you want to go far, go together!
This was my mantra going into this marathon! I actively looked for fellow runners targeting a similar time! Even though I was loud about a sub 2:50, deep down, I was going for a sub 2:45.
I knew that this race was going to be about discipline and sticking to the plan! Armed with lessons from NCM, where I got carried away and started too fast, this time round, I was keen not to betray myself.
At the start line I met @edgarruner , whom we had agreed to kick off with a pace of 3:55. One km in, the pace was 3:40, which felt comfortable, and so we slowed down slightly and kept going.
Soon, @atati caught up with us, and the group grew to 3. A few minutes in, @fredrickngeno arrived… Finally, @BrianKasembeli3 joined us, and we pushed together, with so much unity, sharing water, ORS, Reload and psyching each other up. The group was so full of energy, and we cheered other runners as well!
The run felt good, easy and comfortable as we largely oscillated from a pace of 3:45 to 3:55!
At Kibera Hill, Lee caught up with us, and we pushed on together.
As we headed towards the Karen Exit, you could tell that we were fairing differently on matters strength, and at this point, it was everyone for himself!
By the turn point, we had covered close to 30km. The group had served its purpose, and now, it was time for everyone to push to their level best!
Lee took off. I tried to keep up but I was already fighting a losing battle with my stomach, which was at this point, running faster than I was 🤣. And so I watched him fly! But it gave me strength to keep going! He became a light house at a very difficult point!
Unfortunately, the group didn’t get a picture together after we all crossed the finish line since I took off to the bathroom immediately due to my shitty situation! The most important thing is that everybody had a good performance 💪🏾
I’m really greatful to the 4 Gentlemen! Thank you so much for keeping it locked! Let’s do it again on the next run 💪🏾

This is the best shitty story you are ever going to read because shame is a construct that is non existent in the World of Mansa 😁
In the quest for a sub 3 Marathon, in an Official Course, I shat myself… but who cares? 🤣
Despite using #loperamide before and within the run, I knew the caffeine gels were going to mess up my stomach. And for sure at 22km, right there on Kibera hill, the bathroom call came, not so far from the place I had to use the bush during my Stanchart RECCE
I had 2 options, use the bathrooms provided, which meant, stop and struggle to pick up pace after, or keep going and hope for the best!
I chose the later, & by 28km it was evident that the bathroom call could no longer wait!
Kukaza matako and run fast at the same time is not easy at all since they both use the same muscle ( did you know that? Now you know ) 🤣
Stopping was not an option! In the words of @nimsdai giving up is not in the blood! So I did what I had to do, kukaza haga proper 😂
At 40km, the worst happened! The shat came at SAWE speed 😂😭
The finish line was near and that’s all that mattered!
In the end, a 2:46:20 marathon was in the bag, & shitting myself was a small price to pay for it! Having shed a whole 11 mins, 26 secs from my previous pb, the joy, more like euphoria, was everything 🙌🏾 definitely stronger than the smell 😆
After getting my medal, I took a whole carton of water and dashed to the bathroom to clean up… it was a mess! Shit on my shorts, socks, shoes… everywhere 😭 not even the whole box of water could save me!
Thanks to the guys at carnivore for allowing me to use their bathroom to clean up!
After cleaning up, I came back & proudly mingled with people as if nothing had happened 😂. In case you smelt something weird, that was me and I’m sorry 🤣
To everyone who said hello on my way back and I probably did not respond, now you know what I was going through! Poleni sana! I was going through a lot 😂
To the guy at 40km who ran along side, filming & asking me questions, my apologies… I was in a shitty situation & couldn’t say shit 😂 please send me that video 🙏🏽
To my Formation Team, your post is loading 🙌🏾 you guys are special and you made today a reality @edgarruner , Atati, Ng’eno & Lee. Nyinyi lazima niwaandikie shairi 🙌🏾

Hydrate properly! The mission ahead is not for the faint hearted!
Usipite station ya ORS…
Using gels you haven’t tried before? Be sure to take loperamide before the run!
Avoid wearing new shoes & clothes…
Apply Vaseline in between your toes, on your feet & nipples to reduce friction…
Make good use of that @RexonaEA @RexonaKenya 👀
Please tag @adidasrunning & @adidas and while at it, let me know the most mileage you have ever pushed a running shoe 😁
It’s been more than 2 months since I came to the track for a speed workout session! Recovering from an injury, a break was necessary so as to give my hip flexor, the iliacus muscle, enough time to heal!
As usual, the session was tough, and I kept it short because Weuh 😂 we have to save energy for Sunday’s Standard Chartered Marathon.
Even the greatest Eliud Kipchoge is on record saying speed sessions are the toughest workouts when it comes to running!
Happy to see that despite the break, I still got it 😁

The books you claim to have read state that the emergency war in Kenya cost the British £55M, a lot of money then. The British could no longer sustain colonialism due to the costs of the war! So Mau Mau clearly influenced and forced the British to come to the conclusion that they must “leave”. 60 years from now, some ill-informed kid will be online arguing that the “gen-z” protests had nothing to do with Ruto being voted out, saying that Ruto left because of his own “good” will 😬
Why did they go bankrupt? Why couldn’t they continue running the machine?
It’s because fighting the natives was becoming too expensive!

Not to rain on your parade but, the British Empire was running bankrupt. They propped up the Pound using US dollars after world war two. So there is truth to it, "independence" was handed over to colonies because they just couldn't continue running the machine.
