Part 2 #standardcharteredbank
If you want to go fast, go alone, but if you want to go far, go together!
This was my mantra going into this marathon! I actively looked for fellow runners targeting a similar time! Even though I was loud about a sub 2:50, deep down, I was going for a sub 2:45.
I knew that this race was going to be about discipline and sticking to the plan! Armed with lessons from NCM, where I got carried away and started too fast, this time round, I was keen not to betray myself.
At the start line I met @edgarruner , whom we had agreed to kick off with a pace of 3:55. One km in, the pace was 3:40, which felt comfortable, and so we slowed down slightly and kept going.
Soon, @atati caught up with us, and the group grew to 3. A few minutes in, @fredrickngeno arrived… Finally, @BrianKasembeli3 joined us, and we pushed together, with so much unity, sharing water, ORS, Reload and psyching each other up. The group was so full of energy, and we cheered other runners as well!
The run felt good, easy and comfortable as we largely oscillated from a pace of 3:45 to 3:55!
At Kibera Hill, Lee caught up with us, and we pushed on together.
As we headed towards the Karen Exit, you could tell that we were fairing differently on matters strength, and at this point, it was everyone for himself!
By the turn point, we had covered close to 30km. The group had served its purpose, and now, it was time for everyone to push to their level best!
Lee took off. I tried to keep up but I was already fighting a losing battle with my stomach, which was at this point, running faster than I was 🤣. And so I watched him fly! But it gave me strength to keep going! He became a light house at a very difficult point!
Unfortunately, the group didn’t get a picture together after we all crossed the finish line since I took off to the bathroom immediately due to my shitty situation! The most important thing is that everybody had a good performance 💪🏾
I’m really greatful to the 4 Gentlemen! Thank you so much for keeping it locked! Let’s do it again on the next run 💪🏾

Let's not get it twisted, after his loss in 2027, Ruto will not be allowed to retire peacefully. We will jail him. He has to pay for his atrocities in bringing a whole nation to a standstill.
Dig it!

As @LindaMwananchi_ team, we forgive the disgraceful conduct by DIG Gilbert Masengeli and Lagat at Opicho’s funeral in Kitale today. We still got to speak to the people. I know many in public service are living in fear because we have a very petty regime in power. Being seen to “allow” opposition leaders too much leeway can end careers. My assurance is that in 10 months you will experience true freedom.

Go back to the studio and apologize from there. Send an open letter to President Edwin Sifuna.

You’re pathetic, and your apology is just as pathetic. Let’s not pretend you’ve suddenly developed some respect for Kenyans or Africans. You’re apologizing because Kenyans dragged you for your ignorance, and had nobody called you out, you’d have gone about your business without thinking twice about what you said.
And this is exactly how you idiots still think of Africa. You were discussing immigration in America, a country with enough problems of its own and lots of rats, but somehow Nairobi became your example of everything wrong with a city. What the hell does Nairobi have to do with your immigration problems?
What annoys me even more is how casually you said it. That’s how deeply ingrained this ignorance is. To some of you, Africa is still that miserable, backward place you can casually throw into a conversation whenever you need an example of poverty, chaos or failure.
And then when Africans refuse to sit quietly and take your nonsense, suddenly you’re sorry.
You’re not sorry you said it, Rob. You’re sorry we heard you, understood exactly what you meant and refused to let you get away with it.
Keep your apology. What you need is to unlearn the garbage that made you think saying something like that was acceptable in the first place🚶🏿♀️WANTAM!!

Depends on the quality of audacity. Finessed & authentic audacity attracts. Bragadaccia & duplicitous audacity totally repels. This holds everywhere...not just in golf clubs. Lol

Let me beat you a story!
I toyed with show casing houses for so long. First person I saw do this was @piersmorgan , more than 10 years ago. He was travelling around the world show casing projects in Monaco, France, and Dubai. Some of those videos are still on YouTube! I was so fascinated by what he was doing I was like, “I want to do this. I want to travel around the world seeing all these world class projects and show casing them”.
But there was one hinderance (or so I thought)! My English is not the best when it comes to pronunciation. I’m the perfect example of you can take the man out of the bush but you can’t take the bush out of him. Why do I say so, because unlike my sister who is so polished, my R and Ls just decided they will never aline 😂 I remember @RayMunene and @Riccobeatz giving me lessons back in my musical days but wapi!
Fast forward, I thought this would be a problem, I mean, who would watch a show where the pronunciation is not correct? This meant hiring someone else to present on the show, which brought in the challenge of getting the right person and the resources required for that especially for a new business which I had not even figured out how to make money from. If anything, it was more out of passion than it being a business. I did not even have a business plan. Story for another day!
As a result, I shelved the idea for many years, working on getting the resources required.
In 2020, at the height of Covid, I stumbled on @enesyilmazer property channel on YouTube, and I immediately noticed the accent. This was all I needed. I kept watching his show like, if all these people can watch and enjoy this show, then they can watch me past my accent. I will forever be grateful and indebted to Enes. Never met him but man just moved me.
What I did not know ladies and gentlemen is that, many people in this country and even beyond talk English the way I talk it. The urban population is tiny, and with the huge internet connectivity it means you get viewers across the country and beyond. When these people watch our show, they feel “represented” and the accent also gives me an authentic edge that is hard to replicate.
Looking back, it’s hard to believe that I had put that limitation on myself. First of all, no one can go hard for your dream as you can go hard for it. I can’t even imagine the hustle that would have been, dealing with a hired presenter, before we broke even. Dreams and passions are labors of love.
What is the limitation you have put on yourself? Maybe it’s just a bubble in your head!

“I’d rather live rich and die early than live poor and miserable.” MF you’re already 50. You’ve practically completed the “early” part of the equation.
