That one time John McEnroe dressed up on Halloween as John McEnroe.

It’s beloved Jack Carson’s birthday today!
Any actor who disappears from Hollywood for weeks at a time to join the Clyde Beatty circus is tops in my book!
Always loved in this house.💙 #BOTD
Happy Birthday to Diana Dors (1931-1984). I first learned who she was in Movies From the Mansion, a book about Pinewood Studios that I bought when I was a kid (because didn’t every American kid buy British film books?). Wish I still had that copy.

Uncommon photo of actor/singer Ezio Pinza, Jane Powell, Groucho, and Fannie Brice on a November 1950 episode of "The Big Show" - NBC's all-star attempt to keep people glued to their radios instead of abandoning them entirely for television. Ultimately, it didn't work.

#BOTD #RitaHayworth. One of the top stars of the Golden Age of Hollywood. Troubled life. Suffered from depression. She was diagnosed as having Alzheimer’s in the early 1980s, becoming one of the first celebrities to publicly share that she had the disease.
This dialogue!
Flirting hep cat Greer Garson might be my new favorite Greer Garson.

Happiest Birthday to Laraine Day (1920-2007). Love her in Keep Your Powder Dry (1945) and The Locket (1946), among others.
Just watched her in Dr. Kildare’s Wedding Day (1941) and WHY didn’t anybody TELL ME?!? Ripped my heart right out.

Classic film lovers are sensitive to time, I think. On Oct. 6th, we lost Eva Marie Saint at 102 *and* remembered Carole Lombard's birth 118 years ago. That's a mere 16-year age difference, putting the length of Eva Marie's life in perspective. And the brevity of Carole's.
Before the day ends here, Happy Birthday, Queen. 👑
