Ukraine isn’t “learning NATO standards.” NATO is learning Ukraine’s survival skills.
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said Britain will bring Ukrainian experts together with UK experts to help Gulf partners shoot down Iranian drones attacking them. Ukraine has been doing this under real combat pressure for years.
So remind us: why does Ukraine remain outside NATO, when its experience would clearly strengthen the alliance?
A country that protects others with its know-how shouldn’t be left waiting at the door.

Europe must finally equip itself with real strength, real ability to defend its skies, its land, and its sea against any type of attack. In particular, this means building sufficient air defense production capacity — both against drones and against ballistic missiles.
The situation in the Middle East shows how difficult it is to provide one hundred percent protection against missiles and “shahed” drones. Even in the Gulf countries, which have more advanced air defense systems than those provided to us so far by our partners and have them in larger quantities, not all ballistic missiles are intercepted. There were also “shaheds” that air defense in the region has not stopped.
Everyone can now see that Ukraine’s experience in defense is, in many respects, irreplaceable. We are ready to share this experience and help those nations that helped Ukraine this winter and throughout this war. We are ready to work on developing Europe’s shared defensive capabilities. Europe must have enough air defense missiles, enough experience in shooting down drones, and sufficient production of modern interceptor drones. Together, we can make this happen.

Therefore, it is fair to give the Iranian people a chance to rid themselves of a terrorist regime and to guarantee security for all nations that have suffered from terror originating in Iran.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine confirms the unchanged position of our state: we support the Iranian people and their legitimate desire to live in security, freedom and prosperity.
The Iranian regime, which has been mocking the Iranian people for decades, has launched a large-scale policy of violence against its own people and other countries. This includes massive human rights violations within the country, support for militants who have brought chaos to other countries in the region, and direct military support for the aggressor state of Russia in its unprovoked war of aggression against Ukraine. We remember and will never forget the strikes of thousands of "Shaheeds" on our peaceful cities and people.
Such cooperation between the regimes in Moscow and Tehran constitutes a gross violation of international law and undermines global efforts to restore peace and stability.
Long-term systematic violations of human rights, brutal repression, executions and persecution of dissidents testify to the deep crisis of the internal policy of this state and the lack of proper protection of the basic rights and freedoms of its citizens.
The regime spent enormous resources precisely on violence, murder and chaos, and not on providing for its own people, whose economic situation continued to deteriorate every year. As the President of Ukraine has repeatedly emphasized, the Iranian regime should have gone long ago.
The reason for the current events is precisely the violence and arbitrariness of the Iranian regime, in particular the murders and repressions against peaceful protesters, which have become particularly large-scale in recent months.
We emphasize that the regime in Tehran had every opportunity to prevent a violent scenario. It was given opportunities for diplomacy and finding solutions, but the regime ignored these efforts and instead only stalled for time in the hope of misleading the international community.
We reaffirm our unwavering position: we wish security, prosperity, and freedom to the Iranian people, as well as stability and prosperity to the Middle East. We thank everyone in the world who has supported and continues to support the Iranian people in this difficult time.
