When I was a little boy, a couple of days after Halloween, I came home from school looking forward to raiding my stash of hard earned Halloween candy, only to discover that my mother had been home all day, and had absolutely decimated my candy while watching TV. I get the very same feeling of disappointment and disgust when I think of government taxes.

Such is often the case. There are about 2.2M registered voters in LA. So about 40% of registered voters decided the race. Again, this is not unusual. I bring all this up just to note that just a small number of voters deciding to show up to vote at any given 2/x

As I recall Progressives tried to cancel Speedy Gonzalez for being a racist and offensive stereotype of Mexicans but then the Mexican got mad at them because as it turns out Speedy is extremely beloved, so the censors were forced into a hasty retreat similar to the Latinx debacle

There is a very interesting mismatch between the elections for *candidates*, which effectively yielded a massive and historic sweep for the Democrats, and the *ballot initiatives*, almost all all of which yielded conservative outcomes, even in the deep blue states (but not VA).
