When I was a little boy, a couple of days after Halloween, I came home from school looking forward to raiding my stash of hard earned Halloween candy, only to discover that my mother had been home all day, and had absolutely decimated my candy while watching TV.
I get the very same feeling of disappointment and disgust when I think of government taxes.

Luckily, Warner Bros' best Mexican character was spared from cancellation during that whole sorry episode: Slowpoke Rodriguez. While Speedy rushed and worked hard for his victories, Slowpoke was smart, methodical, and carried a big bore revolver as an equalizer. Be like Slowpoke.

Choosing to quote tweet Tucker or to read a Tucker post at all is a choice… A stupid choice, but a choice nonetheless

This reminds of a joke: A young priest asks a wise older priest, "What's the difference between the Jesuit and Dominican Orders?" The older priest says wearily, "Well, actually they have a lot in common. They were both founded by Spaniards, St. Dominic for the Dominicans, and St. Ignatius of Loyola for the Jesuits. They were also both founded to combat heresy: the Dominicans to fight the Albigensians, and the Jesuits to fight the Lutherans." The younger priest says, "I see. But where do the Jesuit and Dominican Orders really differ?" The older priest looks at him and says, "Well, have you met any Albigensians lately?"

I asked 50 Japanese people, ages 9 to 91, one question.
"What do you admire most about Americans?"
Here are the top answers.
10. "They clap when the plane lands." (Office worker, 34)
9. "They say 'I love you' every time they hang up the phone. Even men. Even to other men." (Taxi driver, 61)
8. "A stranger told me she liked my shoes. Then she just walked away. She didn't want anything." (High school girl, 16)
7. "They thank the bus driver when they get off." (Bus driver, 55. He got emotional saying this.)
6. "They tell you their whole life story in the grocery line. I know about one man's divorce, his boat, and his knee surgery. We knew each other for four minutes." (My mother, 64)
5. "They stand for the anthem at a children's baseball game." (Little League coach, 47)
4. "When they lose, they shake hands and say 'good game.' And they mean it." (Sota, 12)
3. "They fly the flag on a regular Tuesday. No holiday. Just because." (Nurse, 28)
2. "They help a stranger push a car out of the snow, then leave without saying their name." (My cousin's husband, 52, who got stuck in Colorado once)
And the number one answer came from the oldest person I asked. My grandfather. He's 91.
He thought about it for a long time.
Then he said:
"They still believe tomorrow will be better than today."
I asked him what he meant.
"In 1946, we had nothing," he said. "The American soldiers I met were young and far from home. But they acted like the future was coming, and it was going to be good. After a while, we started to believe them."
I asked him if he thought Americans still believe that.
He nodded slowly.
"Tell them," he said, "not to stop."

This is what we’re dealing with here in Virginia
DOGGING QUESTIONS: A Virginia lawmaker says a voting-rights restoration certificate bearing Gov. Abigail Spanberger's signature was issued in the name of Biscuit, a beagle-hound mix from Goochland County that died five years ago and, according to its owner, was never convicted of a felony.
Del. Tom Garrett is demanding an independent audit of the governor's rights-restoration process, questioning how a certificate bearing a deceased dog's name could state that the executive branch had reviewed the particulars of a criminal case.
The discovery comes just days before Virginians vote on whether to make voting-rights restoration automatic upon release from incarceration — and follows another disputed certificate issued in the name of "Betty No Last Name."

⚓️ What do naval history, British beef and chocolate warships have in common?
Trafalgar Night! 🇬🇧 🇺🇸
Last week, we celebrated over 200 years of Royal Navy history and tradition at the British Ambassador’s Residence in Washington, DC.
From the ceremonial Parade of the Baron of Beef to chocolate warships with sparklers and a rousing rendition of Heart of Oak, it was a night to remember!
More than a celebration of naval history, Trafalgar Night honours the service men and women serving side by side, strengthening the enduring maritime partnership between the UK and U.S.

BREAKING 🚨: After a 6-month investigation, I can confirm @3YearLetterman, self-proclaimed "Die-hard Georgia Fan," was NOT born in Georgia.
I have irrefutable proof that Letterman was born in none other than...ALABAMA.
Exhibit A is Letterman's real birth certificate from Dothan, Alabama, with personal details redacted. Exhibit B is the forgery that has covered it up for thirty years.
Eyewitnesses, confessions, and a lawyer's statement to follow. 🧵

Now that the Nog Wars ‘26 has officially started I would like to remind all my Nogger brethren.
The “Anti-Nog” coalition are just that. They fight only in opposition to us.
They have nothing of their own, only an emptiness, nothing to fight FOR, only to fight AGAINST the joy of others.
So we will fight. We will defend what is ours and we will not let the soulless dictate to us how we must live.
Onward, and Godspeed.
