San Francisco’s partnership with federal prosecutors has been key to ending the 24-hour-a-day drug markets that once operated with impunity in SOMA and Tenderloin neighborhoods.
And yes, I hope that partnership continues in the Trump Administration. /1

Commissioners are supposed to serve the public
The SF system doesn’t set that up. The SF system is commissioners serving themselves and their political machine.
It’s a veritable feast.
Time to flip the tables.

The SF Chronicle has endorsed Marjan Philhour for D1 Supervisor.
Marjan represents the future of the Richmond District, with a clear vision to help our community grow and thrive.
In contrast, Connie Chan has proven to be ineffective, divisive, and often absent when we needed leadership most.

OPINION: "Marjan Philhour has the experience, the policy platform and the deep community knowledge to make her a highly effective supervisor," writes the Chronicle's editorial board. trib.al/klh1S0K

San Francisco must fund recovery-first housing that has no drugs in it
It is inhumane to force people by de facto requiring people to live in housing that is full of people abusing drugs
PSH residents want recovery. Why won’t the city fund it?

When you have 1,200 UNELECTED commissioners making government decisions, corruption is going to happen.
San Franciscans deserve a government that serves them and not the political insiders.
Vote for Prop D to end the commission corruption.

Too little too late. 6 years as Mayor, 6 years on the BOS, & she releases a plan 60 days before an election.
At Tipping Point, we used metrics to fund programs that got results & we cut funds when they didn't. I will reform City Hall & how we contract: daniellurie.com/priorities/a…

SF just passed a law forcing corner stores to close early to keep pipes, foil, and straws out of the hands of drug users.
But at the same time we fund nonprofits that pass out free pipes, foil, and straws on the streets.
What are we doing?
San Francisco DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH, is supposed to be working on ending the Drug Crisis. There supposed to be slowing down the overdose rate, they should be walking around offering detox and rehab, but instead they send there employees too drug infested areas and hand out Meth Pipes. Like ex mayor, Willie Brown said, this epidemic is to be PERPETUATED!!!

This sounds like a MUCH more likely reason for Musk to move Twitter from SF. He has always wanted to launch a payments platform. And @Benioff’s prop C NUKED fintech startups in SF: stripe, square, etc. Twitter could not survive in SF with Prop C tax on payments business
We must must must repeal this terrible law
Replying to @Benioff
Marc, I think you’re great and had the best of intentions, but the crazy gross receipts city tax that you supported makes it impossible for financial companies to operate in San Francisco.
That’s why Stripe, Block (CashApp), VISA and many others were forced out of San Francisco, as “gross receipts” came to be defined as all transactions processed by a company, even if NOT revenue. That meant companies processing payments either had to leave SF or die.
Even if the severe crime problem in SF were to be solved tomorrow, 𝕏 could not remain in SF and launch payments, as it would immediately fail.

This oversight committee recommends how hundreds of millions of dollars in city funds is spent.
Friedenbach is suing SF—she's an activist with a vested interest in where that money goes.
SF officials: "Sure, let the fox watch the henhouse. What’s the worst that could happen?"
Let's be clear: yesterday Connie Chan voted to appoint Jennifer Friedenbach, exec dir of the Coalition on Homelessness to the city-sponsored homeless oversight committee. What's next? Appointing an arsonist to oversee the fire department? @GrowSF @TSFAction @VoteandChangeSF

@DeanPreston, we don’t need a report to know what it takes to bring a grocery store back to the Tenderloin. It’s right there in the papers.
No grocery store can stay open when their staff and visitors feel unsafe.
Whole Foods hinted they would come back if they could keep their employees safe. Supervisor Dorsey told CNN he wants it to reopen.
Talk to Chief Scott, talk to Supervisor Dorsey, and find effective ways to solve the problem, instead of wasting people’s time on performative resolutions.

This misses the key fact about Prop B: that Sup. @Ahsha_Safai and five @SFBOS members added a deceptive #CopTax requirement to DELAY PROGRESS ON POLICE STAFFING. It’s a misleading dirty trick, which neither @Ahsha_Safai nor any other supervisor would debate. VOTE NO ON PROP B!
