If Prasar Bharati can spend ₹15 crore a year on a DD News show featuring a star anchor, while the ISRO Chairman’s basic pay is about ₹27 lakh a year, shouldn’t we rethink our priorities? If India wants to conquer space and attract our finest scientific minds, our rewards must match our ambitions.

When Big Media reports this bizarre and bogus exchange between @narendramodi and an AI-driven hologram of a dead man as “Modi interacted with Swami Chinamayananda” they betray a wilful gullibility that puts even the demonetisation-era Godi Media fantasy about microchip-embedded currency notes to shame.
#WATCH | Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with Swami Chinmayananda through holographic technology at the Chinmaya Amrit Mahotsav. The moment recalled their historic meeting in 1993. "It makes me happy that the person I spoke to in 1993 has now become the Prime Minister of India. Whatever you have done for India so far, we are all proud of you," said Swami Chinmayananda. The interaction showcased confluence of faith, spirituality and modern technology. #PMModi #Holography

The case should be handed over to the NIA, ED and CBI. Such a serious offence that someone criticised the Modi government's performance. This regime doesn't even want to pretend that India is a democracy.
Delhi | An FIR has been registered against unidentified persons after two posters questioning the government's performance were found pasted inside a train on the Delhi Metro’s Airport Express Line. The FIR was registered under Delhi Prevention of Defacement of Public Property Act, 2007 and Metro Railways (Operation and Maintenance) Act, 2002. Police seized the posters, and the Special Cell is also involved in the investigation: Delhi Police

I also questioned the Congress party about their protest of SIR in the same vein yesterday, asking what they were really doing while the SIR process was ongoing, and asked the opposition & CJP not to tar all the institutions of our democracy with a blank ink when some individuals could have erred! Lastly, enough of this anti-national thing. FCRA is controlled by MHA. All agencies don’t report to the opposition parties in the country. All the embassies outside are equipped with enough people to track any Indian national in hand in glove with foreign enemies. It’s honestly very tiring and boring to see all protests and statements against the central government being called as anti-national and funded by forces outside. I have a feeling the central government forgets it’s been in power in Delhi for 12 plus years and still manufactures an enemy at all times to keep itself relevant. Sadly, that’s a pity! (2/2)

In 2011, then Gujarat Chief Minister Thiru @narendramodi avl said that if his hands were not tied, he would have gone to Delhi and waged war against the central government. Thiru Narendra Modi avl made this statement in response to the police crackdown on the peaceful anti-corruption campaign led at Ramlila Maidan, Delhi. In my opinion, what the Hon PM said then was absolutely right, and there is nothing wrong about it. Today, you could be jailed indefinitely; your surety bonds could be rejected; and, surprisingly, a Special Executive Magistrate will play circles around you when he/ she is empowered to deal with preventive bond cases. If you question the violation of due process of law in a democracy, you would be called names, and a barrage of attacks would follow, including being labelled a Foreign Agent. Ever since I asked the Central Government to speak with the protestors during the NEET exam protests, I have faced constant attacks, but I let them pass because I felt it was important to focus on the issues on the ground in Tamil Nadu. I also, in a way, enjoyed this as it would quickly remove the tag of me being a BJP B Team and sent to TN as a Dhurandhar 😍 Yesterday during a press meeting, I questioned the Delhi Police’s methods of detaining protestors of CJP. Since yesterday, the attacks have resumed, as expected. For some in the BJP, let me make this categorically clear, in case you have selective amnesia: I left the BJP on June 5, 2026. As I mentioned yesterday, I might not agree with the tactics of the CJP, and I think many of theirs are misguided. But if you ask me whether they have a right to oppose/argue/protest on an issue that they think is important? I would categorically say - YES. So, I would like people to ask the questions again, even if it makes some of them uncomfortable, and I wish the Central Government would answer them instead of resorting to whataboutism. 1.How was Jantar Mantar denotified as a protest site as per a standing order of the Ministry of Home Affairs after a letter was handed over by CJP seeking permission to conduct a protest? 2.How long can we have a system that gives powers to an Asst Commissioner of Police as a Special Executive Magistrate who rules over whether to keep someone in preventive detention? The ACP of Delhi Police stands over the trial where Delhi Police is the complainant against the accused CJP. Now you know which way the wind will blow. 3.On October 19th, why did the Special Executive Magistrate, aka ACP of Delhi Police, deliberately arrive late for the bail hearing of those who were arrested from Jantar Mantar on October 13th and recuse himself, saying there is a threat to his life? Is this some kind of a joke? 4.Why were 8 sureties rejected, and why was the person who came for surety subjected to cross-examination by the Special Executive Magistrate? 5. Any action taken on pellet gun usage by the Delhi police or other actions on Delhi police who have violated the standard operating procedures against the protesters during the NEET fiasco stir? Has no BJP karyakarta in Delhi violated any bond conditions during the previous Congress and AAP governments. I trust the same Delhi police were then also when barricades were jumped and orders disobeyed? How were they dealt with then? Like this? Definitely - NO. Now I hear that the detained functionaries of CJP were released by SEM after the case reached the High Court. I also recently saw a cockroach effigy burned as part of the Dusshera celebrations. Out of curiosity, I tried to find out who is giving this free publicity at a National level. No surprises here. It was led by a BJP MLA, Ashok Goel. My question again is: is the BJP opposing the CJP or giving it free publicity? Does it want the opposition votes to split by making CJP a bigger player? At this rate, the CJP couldn’t have asked for a better PR team, even if it had paid for one! (1/2)

MeitY's advisory to Meta directs the suppression of protest reporting on Instagram and Facebook. It must be withdrawn. 19 Oct 2026 On 10 October 2026, the Cyber Laws Division of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology issued an advisory to Meta Platforms bearing File No. 6(2)/2026-Cyberlaws. It was not published on the MEITY website and first HT and then PTI reported it on 18 October. Any such advisory is not a legal order and MEITY is not legally empowered to issue them on the basis of any statutory provision. This advisory followed, by two days, an advisory of 8 October to all social media intermediaries calling for "enhanced diligence" over content on "ongoing public events", asking platforms to "label or add context" to misleading content and to "give priority to complaints from authorised Government agencies". IFF called for the withdrawal of that advisory on 9 October. The Meta advisory was issued on the day the Delhi Police detained protesters and journalists at the demonstrations called over the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. The advisory states that content relating to "public-order and law and order situations" is being "prominently displayed and recommended" on Meta's platforms and, "when presented without adequate context or disproportionately amplified", "may contribute to public confusion, apprehension and disturbance of public order and social tranquillity". It singles out "unverified or misleading claims regarding the imposition of emergency, restrictions, police action or other official measures". Further, Meta is advised to review its "recommendation and content ranking mechanisms", to ensure its systems "do not result in disproportionate exposure of users to a single or limited set of narratives", and to furnish "information or assistance" to law enforcement, "with immediate effect". PTI reports that the Ministry acted on inputs from "agencies" that Meta's platforms were not promoting all "narratives" equally. This advisory matches restrictions on META platforms related to protest content and reporting in the same timline. On 10 October, the Instagram account of Molitics India was withheld in India. On 11 October, a Mathrubhumi English reel showing a woman clinging to a pole as police officers attempted to detain her was restricted citing, "a notice from the Government of India/Law Enforcement", and a video report by Observer Post Hindi was restricted on Facebook by what Meta called an "automated system" acting under the IT Rules, 2021. On 12 October, the Instagram account of journalist Shubhangi Das Gupta was restricted in India for alleged non-compliance with "local IT Rules". On 13 October, the account of Journo Mirror (about five lakh followers) was withheld. The account of Fridays For Future India has since been withheld without any stated reason. Meta's notices to these users do not disclose what is unlawful about the content. As per notices shared by us by those who have been censored by META, they take two forms: 1. "a notice from the Government of India/Law Enforcement under Section 79(3)(b)", and, 2. "through an automated system implemented pursuant to legal requirements under India's Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules". Neither names the issuing agency, the order, the provision of law or offence the content is said to disclose, or the URL complained of. We know due to litigation that the first notice related to a Sahyog order issued by a Law Enforcement Agency (LEA), while the second one is without any legal order. At the same time, several users received no communication at all. Instagram used the same "automated system" notice against Anjali Priya, Varnika Dhawan and Sachin Gupta after the July protests, and against cartoonist Satish Acharya, who lost nine cartoons and then his account between February and September 2026. In April 2026, The Hindu reported that Meta automatically restricts government and police flagged content in India at scale, and seeks a separate government direction before restoring content later found to be legally unsupported. IFF objected to Meta on 4 May 2026. IFF condemns the advisory of 10 October and the restrictions imposed in its wake. An executive communication that instructs a platform to suppress "unverified" claims about "police action" and to correct a "limited set of narratives", issued on the day of a police crackdown and kept from the public, is a censorship directive in all but name. It makes the State the editor of what Indians may see of a protest against the State. IFF calls upon MeitY to withdraw it and upon Meta to disclose what it has done under it. Our demands 1. MeitY must withdraw the advisories of 8 and 10 October 2026 forthwith and publish them. 2. MeitY must abandon proposed Rule 3(4) and restrict content only by reasoned, published orders under Section 69A or notices compliant with Rule 3(1)(d). 3. Meta must disclose every takedown, account restriction and act of downranking carried out under the advisories, and its compliance report to the Ministry. 4. Meta must restore the accounts and posts of journalists, outlets and creators restricted since 8 October 2026 unless it holds a valid legal order, and must furnish that order to the person affected. 5. Meta must suspend the automated restriction of content in India and disclose on what inputs its "automated system" acts. Any person whose account or content has been withheld in India since 8 October 2026 may write to IFF at [email protected]. IFF is providing assistance pro bono.

From the Cockiness of “Dear Mr Fact Checker” to “Dear Shri Zubair”. Credit where due, they admitted their flaw publicly. Great work as always @zoo_bear
Dear Shri Zubair, we have taken note of your point that many instances of duplicate entries can still be found in the electoral roll of UP even after SIR. We are well aware of that fact and are in midst of the work of removing the duplicate entries. A major political party has already submitted to us a list of such entries some days ago. They have claimed that the number of duplicate entries is in lakhs but we are sure that it would not be so since we have already covered much ground since end of SIR. We have also noted your other point of instances of individuals filing multiple forms-7 for deletion of other voters. This was also in our knowledge as the issue was prominently raised by parties during SIR in first half of February this year. We had done two press conferences only on this issue in the month of February itself. A news portal also brought it out again on 9th October before you posted about it. We had already clarified this issue before your post through a press release issued some days ago. You can check it out on our X handle. 1/2

This could not be more wrong, morally and legally. @SauravDassss and @AshutoshRanka must be freed, because they should never have been jailed. It is not a crime to raise your voice for the youth of your country. It is not a crime to demand a better future for the youth of your country. It is not a crime to protest, or to carry the Tricolour in protest. Free them.

They have destroyed everything India had fought for. Regardless of whether you agree with them or not, speak up for them because if they aren’t free you aren’t either.

In 2024, Ashu had called me for advice asking me if I thought he should leave his McKinsey job to work for Jaipur where he’s from. I had just been radicalized and heartbroken by the entire top leadership of AAP being in jail at the time. I told him, “Ashu this is the Wild West. You might believe that you will do everything right and follow all the rules, and keep your head up and do what’s right. But if the state wants to crush you, it will - and no one will care.” The optimist that he is, he obviously didn’t listen to me. Three months ago, when Ashu took the plunge and joined CJP and became the lead negotiator on behalf of students with JP Nadda, I thought, Wow, how wrong was I! Maybe India has turned a page. Cut to today - when Ashu is indeed being crushed by the state for his existence. The point of this story is - Ashu is an inspiring person not just because he has walked into jail with a smile for the crime of holding a Tiranga in Jantar Mantar. It is also because he has always known the consequences of fighting this fight, and yet made the choices that he did. It takes a certain crazy to face down the bully and take him head on. And Ashu is that crazy, both for his own good and not. Release Ashutosh and Saurav NOW!
