Gotta hand it to the bad guys - hitting children and farmers at the same time is almost impressive!

This is beyond absurd. Democrats need to pass bills that will demonstrably improve people’s lives and dare Trump to veto it.
.@SenBrianSchatz says that if Democrats take the Senate, the party's left wing needs to be strategic about not proposing things "that the president of the United States is guaranteed to veto."
"If we want to be more aspirational, if we want to make more bold policy changes... that's for 2028."

A new report on truancy in D.C. says that some Latino students are truant because the increased presence of ICE, other federal agents, and National Guard had "negative impact on their families." One kid said he was "genuinely afraid to step outside" after his dad was deported.

This would be a good moment for Democrats to say something like "we won't let this happen."
The Trump admin is moving forward on plans to impose financial penalties on Americans in default on their federal student loans and hire private debt collectors to go after them.
The plans are unlikely to be announced until after the midterms. washingtonsun.com/economy/tr…

There is absolutely no logical reason why someone who has a mortgage should pay property tax while someone who owns their house outright should not.
"I own my house, therefore I shouldn't pay property tax" is a total non sequitur.
“I’m old. I’ve paid my home off,” said Ray Warner, a 72-year-old Akron resident. “Why would I pay property tax?”
Across the country, homeowners are asking the same question and revolting against property taxes at a scale not seen in a half century.

Huge hole blown in drug regulation. There's a quote in this story that calls this a victory for "medical freedom." But to me a system that disincentivizes the study of whether medicines work or not & what their side effects are before they are sold is NOT freedom.

Are you interested in health reform?
Do you think I do good work and am important to winning the fight for M4A? Should I stay in the movement?

Some news for reporters from this trip — Whip Katherine Clark told me she is “looking for the opportunity to have weekly communication with press” if she is majority leader.
She’s working out the details, but it might include a weekly pen and pad or press conference.
NEW: I traveled with Whip Katherine Clark during a swing through Ohio last week.
In an interview we talked:
- Medicare for All
- Israel aid
- Whether she is leadership’s “enforcer”
- The incoming crop of progressives
“This isn’t going to be my-way-or-the-highway from any one given group,” she told me.

The price of the fuel, used by farmers and truckers, is up more than 75% since the start of the Iran war in late winter. Diesel costs have become a particular concern for economists, who say higher diesel fuel costs trickle down into “just about everything.” nbcnews.com/business/economy…
