A mouth ulcer can often seem like something too small to worry about. But what if it doesn’t heal? Early-stage oral cancer may not cause pain, which is why a non-healing ulcer lasting more than two weeks can sometimes be mistaken for a minor issue and ignored. The key concern is persistence, not pain. Through our initiative #TaaloMatPehchaano, experts - Dr. Alok Thakar, Dr. Amrita Gogia, Dr. Deepak Sarin, Dr. K. K. Handa, and Dr. Sushila Kataria come together for an in-depth roundtable to discuss: • Why a painless, non-healing ulcer persisting beyond two weeks is an important warning sign • Potential contributing factors beyond tobacco, including chronic irritation from sharp teeth • How modern reconstruction can help preserve facial appearance, speech, and quality of life

The people who love us often notice the things we choose to overlook. A non healing ulcer. A sore that persists. A patch in the mouth that seems harmless. We often tell ourselves, “It will go away.” We wait. We ignore. We put it off. But when it comes to our health, some signs deserve more than a second thought because oral cancer might not come with a warning. If a mouth ulcer, sore, patch or wound persists for more than 2 weeks, don’t wait. Get it checked by a specialist. #TaaloMatPehchaano – An oral cancer initiative by Medanta #OralCancerAwareness #OralCancer #TwoWeekRule #CancerAwareness #Medanta

VIDEO | Patna: Bihar Health Minister Nishant Kumar says, “I extend my heartfelt thanks, congratulations and best wishes to the Medanta management for organising this screening camp today under the Bal Hriday Yojana. Through this initiative, any heart-related problems in young children can be detected and treated. The scheme was launched under Saat Nishchay-2. It was inaugurated on April 4, 2021, by my father, Shri Nitish Kumar, when he was the Chief Minister. Medanta has treated around 574 children with holes in the heart. Children with congenital heart defects are treated at four centres- IGIC Patna, IGIMS, Medanta, and Sri Sathya Sai Hospital in Ahmedabad, where we refer patients for treatment. So far, 3,165 children have been treated. Once again, I sincerely thank Ravi Ji and the entire Medanta management for organising this screening camp today.” (Full video available on PTI Videos - ptivideos.com)
