The girl’s mom got a recording of the police call. The person who sent police to attack his 9yo neighbor, describing her as a “small Black woman wearing a hoodie” and doing things that scared him, was former Republican town council member Gordon Lawshe.

A 9yo Black child clearly into science identified a problem harming her neighborhood, researched, found a safe solution, and was testing it. Her white neighbor (who knew her!) called police on her saying a “small Black woman wearing a hoodie” was doing things and scaring him.
