Measuring the Swarm Economy
Existing AI benchmarks fail to measure the growing capabilities of multi-agent systems. New metrics are needed as these systems begin to reshape society.

The CEOs of @Apple and @Meta are tweeting about how efficient it is to run inference on Mac Silicon
Someone should really build a distributed inference network that runs on top of Mac Silicon.
It's probably a $10b company or protocol. 🙃
Replying to @finkd
Congrats to the team! Amazing to run a model of Muse Spark Open's caliber and scale this efficiently, right from your desk. Mac Studio keeps pushing the boundaries of on-device AI!

for half of the things I do in my job on a daily basis, there's some old AVC post deeply relevant to it
so when I get Fred's take on something usually its more like "hey I know what your take on this topic was 10 yrs ago -- do you think this still holds"
was a fun hour riffing on some of these evergreen topics:
avc.com/2011/02/difficult-is…
avc.com/2017/05/investor-vcs…
some moments that stuck with me:
- I contend that most of the most important "networks" have already been built. Fred disagrees
- I contend that mega-VC has put immense pressure on the USV model and that non-operator investors are disadvantaged. Fred suggested both may be true but can be made up for by working harder
Writing a check doesn’t qualify you to give advice.
When @fredwilson was 29 he tried to show up to a board meeting and start giving advice. One of the founders stopped him, “come do every job in the company for a week, then we’ll listen.” So he flew to Buffalo and did it.
With @uninsightful staying at USV as an Investment Partner, I asked the two of them to sit down and compare notes on a business they entered almost four decades apart.
Nikhil is the first analyst in our program’s 20-year history that we've offered the opportunity to stay and move up in the firm.
They covered earning a founder’s trust, building conviction before your partners agree, and staying open to ideas that challenge your strongest held beliefs. They also got into where USV has been right, where we’ve been (very) wrong, and how the venture business is changing.

Time to make something great.
We are releasing the first liquid way to trade Anthropic.
For far too long, frontier assets have only been accessible to a select few. We are here to bring them to the masses.
Introducing EntropyIO. We’ve raised $14M led by Ribbit Capital and a $40M HYPE stake to build both improved and entirely new markets, the first of which are live on Hyperliquid today.

We are a critical time in our nation's history. We either field new capabilities fast and affordably, or we fall behind our adversaries.
Castelion's $1 billion Series C gives us the resources to deliver the capabilities the country needs to deter future conflicts.
Castelion is proud to announce our $1 billion Series C. We’re growing fast and our mission hasn't changed: build the weapons required to deter the next major war, affordably, rapidly, and at massive scale.
This funding accelerates Blackbeard production, develops a longer-range strike system, and starts work on defensive systems.
Thank you to @JPMorgan Chase's Strategic Investment Group, @a16z, @OneCarlyle, @lightspeedvp, @LavrockVC, @AltimeterCap, @TRowePrice, @generalcatalyst, and #Interlagos for backing that work. castelion.com/news/series-c/
