It's here–the deepest, sharpest infrared view of the universe to date: Webb's First Deep Field.
Previewed by @POTUS on July 11, it shows galaxies once invisible to us. The full set of @NASAWebb's first full-color images & data will be revealed July 12: nasa.gov/webbfirstimages
ALT The background of space is black. Thousands of galaxies appear all across the view. Their shapes and colors vary. Some are various shades of orange, others are white. Most stars appear blue, and are sometimes as large as more distant galaxies that appear next to them. A very bright star is just above and left of center. It has eight bright blue, long diffraction spikes. Between 4 o’clock and 6 o’clock in its spikes are several very bright galaxies. A group of three are in the middle, and two are closer to 4 o’clock. These galaxies are part of the galaxy cluster SMACS 0723, and they are warping the appearances of galaxies seen around them. Long orange arcs appear at left and right toward the center.

This week we celebrated @Salesforce's own Taher Elgamal being elected to the National Academy of Engineering. As the “father of SSL,” Taher invented much of the tech we use to shop, bank, and communicate safely online. Taher, it’s an honor to have you in the Salesforce family!

Sad to hear of the passing of GEN @ColinPowellCCNY
He is and should always remain a national treasure. We were fortunate to have such a person on our planet and as a servant to our nation.
God Bless you, Mr. Secretary. Prayers for him and his family.

This is what my thesis adviser Roger Needham told me 30 years ago – "good research is done with a shovel, not with tweezers!" When you find yourself picking up the crumbs left by others, it's time to go find a new pile of muck to drive your shovel into
Why do so many researchers feel like their academic fields are in crisis, or hitting a dead end?
Maybe it's because our academic system keeps researchers pointed in old, tired directions.

@salesforce is experiencing a major disruption due to what we believe is a DNS issue causing our service to be inaccessible. We recognize the significant impact on our customers and are actively working on resolution.

After 100 years of always serving, George Shultz has passed. He served in 4 cabinet posts as Secretary of State, Treasury, Labor, Budget. But I will always remember him for what he did in later years, helping reduce nuclear weapons in the world. RIP Mr. Shultz.

He was a wonderful @Hooverinst colleague who was an inspiration - hungry for knowledge, dedicated to country, committed to making the world better for the next generation. RIP, Sec. Shultz.
Our dear colleague, George P. Shultz died Feb 6 at age 100. One of the most influential secretaries of state in our history, he knew the value of one’s word, that “trust was the coin of the realm,” and forever changed the course of human events. hvr.co/39Zw5mZ

George Shultz was writing about gray zone conflict before it was cool: "The ironic fact is, these new and elusive challenges have proliferated, in part, because of our success in deterring nuclear and conventional war" (1986).

To reach the ~youth~ we're going to have to make infosec sea shanties, aren't we? Guess so!
Behold the tale of kid who reuses their passwords & ends up pwn'd, then learns how to stay safe. We're on a mission to encourage unique passwords stored in a password manager with MFA on.
