"Be humble, for the worst thing in the world is of the same stuff as you; be confident, for the stars are of the same stuff as you." ~ Nikolaj Velimirovic (1916) “Serbia in Light and Darkness”

The evolution of going direct:
Distribution was scarce, so the alpha was in building an audience
Then every company started posting all the time, and attention became scarce
Then attention became exploited with bait and slop, so now credibility is scarce
And there are no shortcuts for credibility
What #moldabledevelopment could actually means. Assisted coding should mean faster complete iteration, not faster specs iteration than waiting for results.
I've been working on a passion project with Opus 5.5 and the UE 5.8 MCP: tearing down a house with an excavator. What a time to be alive :-)
The game itself isn't novel. What I want to share is how I adjusted my workflow during development to manage the complexity.
After several rounds of random asks and tasks, it was hard to get a feel for the impact of all the decisions I'd made (or hadn't made because Opus made them for me). So I asked Opus 5.5 to turn all the .md files it had been creating into a website and treat it as the source of truth going forward.
The result is visual product documentation that serves as the authoritative spec. It's kept up to date and is fleshed out, and I iterate on it to iterate on the game.
This feels like a better flow for projects with lots of visuals, and a more intuitive way to get familiar with a project. Fast-forward a few steps into an ideal future and the engine, spec, and project start merging. You edit the project from within the visual spec via agents... and we've reinvented the editor ;-)
The difference is how that editor arranges context. LLMs would dynamically tailor the views, content, and tooling to the task at hand, including generating tools as needed. It becomes a mix of project documentation with live editing embedded etc.
The beauty of this approach is that exploring the project sparks joy in a way that reading plain .md files or browsing documents does not. Opus' ability to create compelling visuals and flows with taste is a game changer.

Spotify's engineering team cut Claude Code token usage by 90% with a two-model routing approach they call Portal. The mechanism is worth understanding because it's not prompt engineering, it's hard blocks at the architecture level.
Two cheaper "assistant" models handle the tasks that don't need the expensive model: opening files, writing repetitive code, boilerplate. The expensive model only touches novel reasoning. Files over 350 lines get blocked from the expensive model entirely, not suggested away from it, blocked.
They tried rules-as-instructions first. It didn't hold. Engineers (and the model) found ways around soft rules. Hard blocks at the routing layer worked where prompt-level guidance failed.
90% token reduction is a big number. The implication is that most of what people use frontier models for in a coding workflow doesn't actually require frontier-level reasoning. Routing to capability level rather than defaulting to the best model available is a legitimate architecture pattern.
Article is worth reading in full.

Spotify just published the internal setup their engineers use with Claude Code, the one that cut token usage by 90 percent. Here is how it works.
The observation behind it: most of what a coding assistant does is not thinking. It opens five files to answer a question about one of them. It writes a test that copies the pattern of the twenty tests sitting next to it. Enormous amounts of work, almost no judgment, and all of it billed at top rates.
So they added two cheap assistants. One opens the files and hands back a short summary. The other writes the repetitive code from an example and saves it straight to disk. The expensive model never sees any of it.
The clever part is how they made it stick. First the rules were written down as instructions, and the model ignored them. Now anything over 350 lines gets stopped before it opens and sent to the cheap one instead. Written rules are a suggestion. A block is not.
Two things stayed expensive. Edits still need the real file. And the cheap worker missed a bug the expensive one caught in seconds.

Also, local models seem inevitable.
I want to be able to run a “good enough” model on my laptop, or even on my phone, and not depend on paying for an API that changes prices in ways I don’t control.
AI labs will hate this idea of the future, cloud providers will love it tho.

I had a really interesting chat with Genvid's Jacob Navok about, basically, the future of entertainment. His DC Heroes United is an amalgam of mobile gaming and TV, what one might short-hand as "a playable show." Interactivity is the future, folks. thebulwark.com/p/melding-vid…
Oh wow! Talk about crocodile tears! What mistreatment, what dictature they were under! Having to type main instead of master! Having to use allow-list instead of whitelist! Now they can go back in peace to their slavery, their heads well buried into the sand by their own masters.

This post is for @NotMyAgile for asking them to stop spreading this Agile cult ideology. Agile is dead, don't you know?

The plan is the plan. Plans should not be changed. Changing the plan is just a way to cheat the client. You get lost without a plan. Follow the plan, no matter what.
5/..
So, you see, everyone would agree that the above is true. There is no better way to do software, nothing to discover. Stop messing around. Agile is dead.
