cfChIP-seq now added to the list of methods for #LiquidBiopsy #CancerScreening.
Subtyping of Small Cell Lung Cancer using plasma cell-free ChIP-Seq offers a new option for liquid biopsy detection of cancer subtype - potential for Dx, MRD, etc.

New pre-print. Wonderful collaboration with Anish Thomas and his group at the NCI.
We show that liquid biopsy can identify small-cell lung cancer (SCLC). Moreover, we can identify its sub-type which today requires solid biopsy.

Proud to see this paper appear online. Massive effort by Alon Chappleboim and Daphna Joseph-Strauss and beautiful story that opens up some intriguing hypotheses.

My 5cents - you need a model of baseline variation within a “homogeneous” population (eg healthy control samples in a medical settings). Once you do that, you can test whether the two groups are best modeled as one population or two distinct ones.

Although the one time I suggested to speakers to do this it was not well received 😬

I once was assigned to do this at a workshop. The original speaker had to cancel in the last minute but told the organizers that he believes I understand the paper… it was an interesting experience. Highly recommended.

As of this week, the dam is beginning to break publicly so I will comment. Google just announced a vaccination requirement, the VA has, CA has, NY has and others are on the path.
Including Biden publicly commenting that this is being considered 4 all federal ees & contractors.2/
A great opportunity for postdoctoral fellows
(And I am happy to sponsor suitable applicants)
