snapshot of guangzho china, the light-manufacturing capitol of the world, where most of your non-electronic goods are likely furnished. you'll notice (particularly in the bottom left of image 1) there's pockets of super dense, favela-esque developments, dubbed "handshake" nbhds

The world isn’t prepared for China’s demographic onslaught of retirees taking dance classes at the local senior community center.

Black married couples have 3.5x the wealth of Black singles... but white singles have 4.6x the wealth of Black singles, 1.3x that of Black marriages, and still married white couples have 2.5x more than white singles. Being married is a boost that approaches whiteness, but why?
Here the negro conservatives thinking marriage will fix the Black wealth gap again. lol

Hegel: "When a father asked him for advice about the best way of educating his son in ethical matters, a Pythagorean replied: 'Make him the citizen of a state with good laws .'" Compare with the more recent (and more limited) aphorism: "No ethical consumption under capitalism."

Fun fact John Smith (yes that one) mapped what would be New England (he named it) and labeled Indigenous towns after English ones. Plymouth, or Patuxet in Algonkian, was named before the so-called pilgrims arrived. They named it that because they purchased Smith's map.
In today’s news , British people are finding out they colonized america and named places here after places that already existed back in England

you just never see this kind of institutional movement toward solving violence against Black people today, who still experience the most racial hatred by wide margins in every corner of this country.
The Talmud teaches that anyone who sustains one soul, has sustained an entire world. For generations, Jewish New Yorkers have sustained our city. Today, we are launching the first-ever municipal Strategy to Combat Antisemitism. Together, we will ensure Jewish New Yorkers are safe and celebrated. We will invest in their protection, their history, and their future. Our safety and our thriving are tied together.

Will never stop talking about this. It's not even Marx and Engels, it's until before WW1. Stefan Zwieg:
Many forget that Marx and Engels lived in the golden era of mostly open borders and largely before visa and passport regimes. People by and large could move anywhere and start a life and essentially live there forever. That extended to even many subjects of colonialism.

I would also say that this quote is far easier to misinterpret than understand in its proper context. When Marx writes that “religion is the opium of the people” in his 1844 work, A Contribution to the Critique of Hegel’s Philosophy of Right, he does so at the end of a sentence++
Marx said that religion was the opium of the Masses. What he didn't note is that it's also the opium of the non-denominational worship services.

European explaining how deep a lake is: Imagine destroying Africa
Lake Baikal in Russia has *so* much water that if it were emptied over Africa, it would cover the *entire continent* in 0.78 metres (2 ft 7 in) of depth. And this is despite Baikal being only 1/1000th of Africa’s surface area. 1/2

"is this white a white" discourses irritate me so much because the answer is yes they are white and no they weren't previously non-white, their integration into colonial projects was the solidification of the political category of white
