Abdul El-Sayed campaigned for signatures and support inside Michigan Islamic centers where speakers have called the United States the “House of Satan” and offered prayers for the worst revenge on Zionists. The statements come from the pulpits and guest speakers at those centers. The visits are on record. Pointing to the sermons is not a claim about what the candidate said. It is a claim about the rooms he entered.

Sahih Muslim 3004 has Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reporting Muhammad’s order: do not write anything from me except the Quran. Erase whatever else was written. The same collections that contain this report were written down centuries later and treated as binding. Muhammad told them not to record his words. The tradition recorded them anyway. 😁👍🏼

When a specific question is put about a verse or a ruling in Islam, the reply often moves straight to Christianity or Judaism. The original point is left unanswered. The criticism is redirected. The pattern is visible on the platform. The question remains.

The work of setting out what the texts and the record actually contain is the work. Credit for saying it is not the point. People who measure the effort by what they personally receive from it are not helping the argument. They are adding noise while the pressure continues. The house is still under threat. The rest is secondary.

The West is under sustained pressure. The arguments over who gets the credit for noticing it are still running while the pressure continues. The order of business is the defence. Who is seen to have said it first is secondary. The house does not care which voice put the fire out.

Treating the conflict between Israel and the forces that target it as just another border dispute misses the point. Israel is the one place in the region where the political and legal inheritance of the West still holds. Neutrality on that point while claiming to defend the West is not balance. It is a refusal to name what is under attack. The record does not require the middle ground.
