Just had an unfortunate doomscroll of @LeeHurstComic's timeline.
A man whose career peaked sitting next to Gary Lineker on *They Think It's All Over*. Even then, people mainly remembered the bloke on the other team.
He opened his own comedy club, the Backyard, which was smart, because it was the only way he could guarantee a booking. He's the only comedian whose biggest audience is the people blocking him on X. His tweets get more replies than his gigs ever got laughs, and most of the replies are corrections.
Lee calls himself a free thinker, which is true, because nobody would pay for those thoughts. He's spent so long complaining that comedy has gone woke, you'd think something had stopped him being funny. Mate, that was the '90s, and you managed it all on your own.
He's built a whole second career out of being angry online. That's impressive for a man who's never once made his point in under 280 characters. He's the only comic on the circuit whose material ages worse than his photos.
And to be fair, he does have a legacy. Every young comedian who walks past his club learns the most important lesson in the business: get famous on a panel show, then quit before anyone notices you've stopped telling jokes.

The post also refers to “brown savages”, and is equally racist against me. Clearly it was not intentional.
The amount of antisemitism and racism on this platform is spiralling out of control, and I hope that changes soon.

Ben Cullen, a prominent activist in Oxfordshire’s Raise the Colours movement and a friend of Ryan Bridge, is due to appear in court today accused of creating indecent images of children.
He is alleged to have created 22 Category A indecent images of children, including one moving image.
He is also accused of creating around 56 indecent images of children using AI.

🚨 Tommy Robinson was allowed to rewrite history completely unchallenged in a friendly interview.
While discussing his libel loss over the Syrian schoolboy, Tommy fired off a series of claims that simply don't stand up to scrutiny:
• Tommy says he merely suggested "there was more to the story." That's false. He presented as "absolute fact" that the boy had beaten girls "black and blue", bitten and kicked other pupils, threatened rape and brought knives to school.
• Tommy claims teachers backed up his allegations on hidden camera. They didn't. No teacher corroborated these claims or said they had been paid in relation to this incident. His film is public and anyone can watch it.
• Tommy claims school records supported him. They didn't. The records did not show the boy had a history as a violent bully, directly undermining Tommy's narrative.
Tommy lost this libel case for a reason.
And the fact that Karl Stefanovic let these claims go completely unchallenged was embarrassing "journalism."

Did you know that Katie Hopkins defended Adam Johnson, who was sentenced to six years in prison after pleading guilty to one count of grooming and one count of sexual activity with a child?
She wrote a whole article for MailOnline defending him and making excuses for him whilst acknowledging that the victim was only 15 years old. "Yes, the girl in this case was 15. But can we truly define the age of sexual consent by something so arbitrary as a number?"
Katie Hopkins also posted a tweet calling the 15-year-old girl a "slag," which deleted after public backlash.
