I have a senior on my roster who hasn’t attended my class a single day this semester. She showed up today for the first time.
We have 7 days left before grades are finalized for seniors.
My administrator just asked me to see what I can do to help her graduate.
In case anyone here is a new follower, this is why I’m leaving public education.

The so-called Railway Safety Act would raise the cost of everything Americans buy, including electricity.
America’s energy producers are pushing back against prescriptive mandates in the Railway Safety Act that would raise household energy prices.

Dear @RepAdrianSmith,
I’m glad you want fuel freedom. Therefore will you join @BasedMikeLee, @chiproytx, @RepScottPerry, etc in supporting elimination of the ethanol mandate in exchange for year-round E15? Otherwise you’re just expanding the mandate.

Ethanol mandates suck.
American consumers should be free to decide whether to put corn in their gas tanks.
Would you prefer to make that decision yourself—rather than having it made for you by Congress?

It has only been higher for a handful of days in the last 19 years. And it is now just 8 basis points from a new 19-year high.

New Mexico could be a very wealthy state but instead Democrat waste and send money else where and pocket the money for them selfs. We could put all that revenue. Worth billions. In our schools and homeless and so forth but they won't Democrats hate everyone

For decades, New Mexicans have been told to blame Republicans and the @NewMexicoGOP for the problems facing our state.
But here’s the reality:
@NMDEMS have controlled the New Mexico Legislature for approximately 95% of the last 100 years — including continuous control of at least one chamber since 1931.
They controlled the budgets. They controlled education policy. They controlled public safety laws. They controlled healthcare expansion. They controlled economic policy.
Yet New Mexico continues to rank near the bottom nationally in crime, child well-being, education, poverty, and healthcare.
At some point, accountability matters.
You cannot govern a state for nearly a century and still blame the minority party for the results.
This isn’t about party loyalty. It’s about outcomes.
New Mexico deserves leadership focused on results, not excuses.

Love it, but it’s 18 cents/gallon. Can we also get rid of the Iran war gas tax? Because that’s hovering around $1.50/gallon.

Within 30 days of opening enrollment to MLG’s “free childcare” the program was already overspending. Estimates in the range of $50 million has been overspent since November.
The state literally did zero groundwork before launching MLG’s legacy which is the real legacy…….intentionally mismanaged funds and programs are her calling cards.
New Mexico started overspending on its universal childcare program almost immediately after it went into effect in November, legislative analysts say. The overspending has led to renewed concerns over the sustainability of the program. sfnm.co/4tXe3rU

-The guard is blocking the door to a Senate committee room - this theater kid is not a state senator or on committee
-He’s not the only black member
-the house seat being redrawn is held by a white man
Does that matter to anyone?
Modern day Bull Conor blocking the floor to the TN state house floor from the only Black member as they strip him of office.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The photo depicts Rep. Pearson outside of a meeting of a TN Senate Committee on redistricting. Pearson is not a member of the Senate. He is not being personally stripped of office, though redistricting may affect his reelection. He is not the only Black TN Representative.

It’s time to stop New Mexico’s backdoor rulemakers.
Larry Behrens is right. The New Mexico Environmental Improvement Board (EIB) has become a vehicle for imposing major policy without elected officials having to answer for it.
• In 2022, this unelected board adopted one of the strictest oil and gas emissions rules in the country.
• In April 2024, it voted 4-1 to impose California-style electric vehicle mandates on New Mexico, despite polling showing 60% of New Mexicans didn’t want EVs and 67% believed they would raise costs for families.
• This month, the same board approved the first air quality fee increase in decades — costs that will be passed directly to working families.
This is not an isolated bureaucratic issue. It is part of a documented pattern.
The connections are clear and verifiable:
The EIB operates in close alignment with the same networks driving policy across multiple states. New Mexico’s machine relies heavily on the Thornburg Foundation in Santa Fe as a central hub, which coordinates funding and strategy with national players. Thornburg has poured tens of millions into New Mexico nonprofits over the past decade, including groups deeply involved in the environmental and “good government” space.
These policies are supported by the same funding streams mapped across the West:
• New Venture Fund (NVF) — part of the Arabella network — has sent $1.41 million in confirmed grants to New Mexico organizations (9 grants between FY2022–2024), including groups like OLÉ, Center for Civic Policy, Somos Un Pueblo Unido, and others that form the advocacy backbone.
• The North Fund sent $100,000 directly to Emerge New Mexico’s 527 political arm — dark money activating the candidate pipeline that helps protect these structures.
• Emerge New Mexico has trained 627 people and placed 118 alumni in office, including key legislative gatekeepers. This is not grassroots — it is a highly organized, national candidate production system.
This is how backdoor rule-making works: national money flows through fiscal sponsors and foundations into advocacy groups and aligned elected officials, who then shield unelected boards from accountability. Voters are left paying higher costs for policies they had no real say in.
New Mexicans deserve transparency and elected officials willing to own their votes. The Environmental Improvement Board is a symptom of a deeper problem — unaccountable parallel power operating behind the scenes of representative government.
The public record on these funding flows and organizational connections is available through IRS Form 990 filings, state campaign finance records, and public grant databases. The data is verifiable. The pattern is consistent.
It’s time to end the backdoor governance in New Mexico.

A trade "deal" that can be torn up by one person at the drop of a hat is not really a trade deal at all.
That's why Congress must take away presidential power over tariffs.
