@steve_hanke, as a ‘learned’ economist and professor, your reputation should remain anchored in intellectual rigour, a sharp eye for detail, and subject matter command instead of reducing yourself to lowlife engagement farming on X.
Your usage and amplification of @TheWJP ‘index’ to draw sweeping and baseless conclusions about India’s civil liberties raises questions on your credibility, intentions, and subject matter depth.
Some structural reality check behind @TheWJP analytics:
1. Geopolitical funding corridors: The WJP remains heavily funded by lobbies with trajectory of systemic bias, a long-standing track record of hit jobs on India, and attempted interference into PM Modi-led government’s sovereign policies and governance. These lobbies rely heavily on qualitative surveys from a highly restricted, Western-based, opaque tiny pool of local self-proclaimed "experts” as their ‘data sample size’ and where the data is neither verifiable, nor accurate, and nor are their methodologies disclosed.
Key sponsors of @TheWJP include:
- Open Society Foundations: @georgesoros backs ecosystems hostile to India's internal governance and domestic laws (@steve_hanke, you haven’t yet been bought out by Soros, have you?);
- National Endowment for Democracy: Federally funded U.S. entity expert at under-the-radar narrative intervention in India and other non-Western democracies;
- The U.S. Department of State: Distributes grants through specific democratic and security bureaus to project American geopolitical priorities onto sovereign states as India;
- The European Commission: Provides major funding designed around rigid, Eurocentric institutional narratives and those aimed at non-Western sovereign nations like India. Their models also remain oblivious to the sheer scale, breadth, and depth of Indian democracy;
- The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation: A massive private grantmaker funding selective advocacy networks (like the WJP) that frequently lean towards foreign interference and anti-government viewpoints.
2⃣. The Institutional Reality: For your educational purposes, over the past decade under Prime Minister @narendramodi’s leadership, financial allocations specifically for minority socio-economic development have seen unprecedented institutional backing. As example, the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) has funded over 44,000 such community assets including schools, skill centres, and hospitals -> specifically targeted at minority-concentrated areas to bridge development deficits, and which have also been backed by expanded national minority scholarships. The minorities have only prospered under PM Modi’s leadership!
Rigorous global analysis demands hard data (if proxied, then provide rationale), and active bias detection, not such blind adoption of skewed closed-room unverifiable analytics, @steve_hanke.
#IndiaWatch🇮🇳: According to the newly released @TheWJP 2026 Rule of Law Index, India ranked 16th of 27 Asian countries for freedom of belief and religion, down from 6th in 2015.
MODI'S INDIA = LOSING RELIGIOUS FREEDOM.

This anonymous (likely CCP-linked) pro-China Singapore-based account named @Ignis_Rex has been running rather sub-standard school level PsyOps. Issues a steady stream of AI-written long-form post designed to ‘influence’ and ‘convince’ Indians that their strategic position is hopeless, that India’s alliances are fake, and PM Modi-led leadership is failing.
This account has a pattern: it takes utterly routine events and packages them as an imminent multi-front collapse that ‘India cannot survive’ whilst positioning China as an unavoidable centre of gravity. The rest of this account’s timeline defends Chinese positions (however ludicrous), mocks Western coverage of Xinjiang/HK, and frames India as an overstretched pretender.
This “Delhi’s four-front nightmare” dollop is just the latest farce issued by this account - meant for pure entertainment purposes as otherwise it lacks serious intellectual rigour, cognitive command, and geopolitical astuteness needed for serious PsyOps warfare - clearly this isn’t China’s forte!
Delhi’s Four Front Nightmare: Encircled by Allies of Beijing
From Vishwaguru to Vulnerable: India’s Strategic Squeeze
QUAD White Elephant, Siliguri Noose: Modi’s War of Attrition
India’s generals love to boast about “two front war preparedness.” But reality is harsher: Karakoram 2026, Arunachal face offs, Washington’s retreat, Trump’s increasingly abusive relationship with Modi, and Bangladesh’s tilt toward Beijing have combined into a multi front encirclement that Delhi cannot afford to fight.
Karakoram 2026: The Dress Rehearsal
China and Pakistan didn’t gather in Xinjiang to practice counterterrorism theater. Karakoram 2026 was a full spectrum rehearsal of high altitude warfare, logistics integration, and joint command systems. The terrain mirrored Ladakh and Gilgit Baltistan — India’s most vulnerable frontier. For Delhi, this was a flashing red light: the PLA and Pakistan Army are learning to fight together in the exact environment India fears.
Arunachal Pradesh: The Daily Reminder
While Karakoram unfolded, Indian ITBP patrols were busy colliding with Chinese border guards in Arunachal, with the outgoing ITBP Director General Kapur admitting his border patrols are not armed adequately to fight the Chinese border guards who carry the latest weapons and drones in the disputed region. These “face offs” are not accidents; they are Beijing’s way of reminding India that Arunachal is disputed. Each encounter forces India to stretch deployments, bleed resources, and admit that sovereignty in the northeast is contested.
The QUAD: White Elephant Diplomacy
India once believed the QUAD was its ticket to global relevance. Now, with the U.S. retreating to the Western Hemisphere and Trump treating Modi like a disposable client, the QUAD looks like a white elephant — ceremonial, expensive, and strategically useless. Japan and Australia can offer sympathy, but neither has experience in high altitude Himalayan warfare nor even credible blue water navy. They are coastal defense powers, not mountain fighters. Delhi is left alone in the Himalayas.
Bangladesh: The Forgotten Front
India’s meddling in Dhaka’s domestic politics backfired. Bangladesh is now buying Chinese fighter jets, submarines, and warships. Worse, it sits next to the Siliguri Corridor — India’s fragile “Chicken’s Neck” that connects the mainland to its northeast. If Dhaka leans harder into Beijing’s orbit, India faces the nightmare of guarding against a fourth front. Losing the corridor would isolate the Northeast, a strategic catastrophe.
India’s Four Fronts
1.Pakistan on the LoC (Kashmir): Constant skirmishes, militancy, and escalation risk.
2.China in Ladakh (LAC): PLA buildup, infrastructure, and Karakoram rehearsals.
3.China in Arunachal (LAC): Border face offs, sovereignty challenges, psychological warfare.
4.Bangladesh at Siliguri Corridor: Chinese equipped military near India’s most vulnerable choke point.
This isn’t a two front war. It’s a four front nightmare.
Strategic Anxiety
India’s anxiety is palpable. It cannot rely on the U.S. anymore, and its regional diplomacy is collapsing. Pakistan is entrenched with China, Bangladesh is drifting toward Beijing, and the PLA is pressing on both Ladakh and Arunachal. India’s dream of being South Asia’s hegemon is turning into a nightmare of encirclement.
Delhi’s options are bleak:
•Overstretch: Guard all four fronts simultaneously, bleeding resources.
•Overcompensate: Accelerate arms imports from France, Russia, and Israel, hoping technology plugs the gaps.
•Overreact: Escalate rhetoric and military posturing, risking miscalculation.
•Overplay the "Game of Map": Modi’s current PR gambit — renaming villages and passes in Arunachal Pradesh to claim victory on paper and feed the Indian media a narrative of toughness. It’s cartographic theater that collapses when ITBP DG Kapur admits to frequent face‑offs and poor equipment against the PLA.
But here’s the cruelest truth: India doesn’t have the budget to fund a four front war. Every rupee poured into Himalayan concrete and Rafale jets means cutting back on social entitlements and handouts that keep Modi’s government in power. The choice is stark: guns or subsidies. Either way, the political cost is enormous.
Bottom Line
India wanted to play great power politics, but instead it’s stuck playing whack a mole with four hostile fronts. Karakoram 2026 showed China and Pakistan rehearsing the nightmare. Arunachal face offs remind Delhi of its fragile sovereignty. The U.S. retreat and Trump’s disdain expose the hollowness of the QUAD. And Bangladesh, armed with Chinese fighter jets, artillery and tanks, lurks near the Chicken’s Neck.
The anxiety is real: India is not preparing for a two front war anymore — it is staring down the barrel of a four front encirclement. The “Vishwaguru” narrative collapses when the guru is busy cutting subsidies to fund bunkers while guarding his borders from every direction.

This faceless, nameless person is conjuring up childish scenarios.
Shows the insecurity of China in the face of India’s rise.
China can’t handle the Philippines and shivers at the idea of a re-militarised Japan.
Only a death wish will make Bangladesh attack the Siliguri corridor.
Pakistan will be taught another hard lesson if it initiated hostilities with India.
Can China support a four front war in the subcontinent when its real challenge is in the western Pacific?
China has its own nightmares.

Astonishing post.
Wants India to congratulate someone who has a long record of targeting India.
Navi Pillay has regularly criticised India on human rights during her tenure as the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (2008–2014)
She has attacked India on Kashmir and mass graves and disappearances, on AFSPA, on Sexual Violence and New Delhi gang rape(2012), calling for substantial legal and systemic reforms to tackle widespread sexual violence, and Caste and Gender Discrimination (2014)
Throughout her tenure, she has has had policy frictions with India on human rights issues.
India has officially responded to her attacks.
She has also been a judge of the ICC which India does not recognise..
What is the case for congratulating her?
Simply because she is of Indian origin?
It’s been six days since this remarkable woman of Indian origin (see her story, attached) won the #NobelPeacePrize. And the Government of India, her ancestral homeland, hasn’t so much as congratulated her?! Shame on the petty men who have made such a deplorable decision.

Not quite. The radical Left (self-appointed arbiters of “social change”), and their sponsors like @georgesoros resort to street thuggery, violence, and rioting precisely when they see themselves failing. When they see a democratically elected non-left government that refuses to be submissive and whom they cannot control, intimidate, or coerce into advancing their self-serving, rather terrorising ideological agenda.
The fundamental issue for these radical leftist thugs is not that parliamentary democracy fails to deliver their radical Left’s preferred “structural change”. Instead, it is that democracy allows voters to out rightly reject the leftist agenda and that leaves these ideological leftist ‘self-appointed power hungry gatekeepers’ rather powerless.
For Soros and allies, with his ~$10 billion funding, it is an attempt to make democratically elected non-left governments pay a price for refusing to submit to unelected ideological agenda.
Billionaire-funded advocacy does not confer the right to engineer political outcomes beyond the ballot box.
A democratically elected government is not the threat. But the Soros-funded malice that aims to engineer political outcomes outside of the ballot box IS a global threat that must be thwarted and decimated for good across nations.
This is Italy. All over "Regime Change" Ops are propelled by the belief that street power can override electoral power.
Q: WHY DO SOCIALISTS, TRADE UNIONS, LEFT GROUPS RESORT TO RIOTING?
Answer: That's because some radical Left movements regard parliamentary democracy as insufficient to deliver structural change.
