➡️General David Petraeus - ex-CIA Director and the most celebrated American General of his generation in conversation with Rahul Kanwal, Shiv Aroor and me at the NDTV World Summit.
➡️His warnings are stark - drone warfare has changed the face of conflict.
➡️Almost every legacy system, every conventional thought process is obsolete.
➡️Mass deployed autonomous killing machines, properly programmed, are a certainty - they are already prototyped now - Within 5 years, they will be mass deployed.
➡️Drones are more efficient, less emotional than human soldiers.
➡️This is the biggest revolution in warfare since possibly the advent of gunpowder itself.

1. Very impressive & educative session for military and political leadership on the new, incoming Concept of Warfare and the steps involved to prepare ourselves for autonomous war fighting forces. Compared to this, our present military doctrines & tactics appear quite antiquate.
General David Petraeus’s session at the @ndtv World Summit should be compulsory viewing for anyone interested in India’s national security and defence preparedness.
The former CIA Director warns that traditional military doctrines and tactics are already obsolete. Modern warfare is being transformed in months, not years. While India struggles to operationalise theatre commands, China is rapidly absorbing the lessons of Ukraine’s drone revolution. We are simply not moving fast enough.
Here’s the full session. Highly recommended viewing.

Delighted to be at the NDTV IGPL Golf Pro-Am in Delhi and present medals to the winners 🏆⛳🏌🏼♀️
Leagues like IGPL are important in creating competitive opportunities, providing greater exposure to our sporting talent and inspiring the next generation to take up sport and pursue excellence.
It is particularly special that Pranavi Urs, who today created history by becoming the first Indian woman to win individual golf gold at the Asian Games, is also an IGPL champion. She won the 2025 IGPL Invitational Mumbai, honing her skills in this game. Today, Pranavi has added a historic individual gold and women’s team silver, alongside Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar, giving Indian golf another landmark moment. From the IGPL fairways to the Asian Games podium, Pranavi’s journey is a wonderful example of how strong sporting platforms can help nurture champions.
