Are you interested in the Free Church of Scotland (Continuing)? Introducing FCC Standards, a digital library for exploring the FCC's Constitution; 3,950 Acts of Assembly (more to come); principles (including the Free Church Catechism and the Practice of the Free Church); worship; government; and history. The app includes an AI Query feature for research within the corpus, as well as full-text search; an easy-to-use document reader (no scans, all are fully OCR'd); a browser for the Acts by year and period; source references for citation checking; and a clean, mobile-friendly interface. It was designed to help office-bearers, applicants, and newcomers to the Free Church to learn more about her. The lectures were delivered by office-bearers at various Colloquia and Family Conferences. They have full-text transcripts, which are also used in answering questions. You can also watch the lectures on the site.
I field many questions about our denomination; perhaps this will help those who want to explore the church.
"But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all." (Galatians 4:26)
This is an early look at the project. More to come later.

under the Antichrist the church declined from the purity of doctrine to idolatry and image service
when seeing the judgments of God over the church through the Turks, for her idolatry, they should have renounced their idolatry and repented
—a Brakel, 17th cent. Dutch Reformed theologian
We would be in a most miserable condition if we had no external civil power to restrain any kinds of blasphemies and seductions. The condition of the Jews-oh, how happy it was in comparison to ours if this were denied us! For if any one of theirs blasphemed God or sought to seduce others from Him, they knew what to do with him, besides persuading him otherwise. But if anyone should seek to seduce the wives of our bosoms, children of our bodies, friends as dear to us as our own lives into those ways that we think in our consciences will undo their souls for all eternity, yet we must only desire them not to do so.
Jeremiah Burroughs, Irenicum

Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.

It is humbling for me to reflect that 50 years ago today I preached my first sermon in Waupun, Wisconsin, on the words, “Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Matt. 5:3). By God’s grace, from that day onward I was privileged to preach two (or sometimes three) times each Lord’s Day, as well as many times during the week while still a theological student, due to there being only five ministers serving twenty-five churches and about 10,000 members in the denomination with which I was then affiliated.
Looking back over these five decades, and the three churches I have been privileged to serve as pastor, I confess that it is only by the sustaining grace of God that I have been upheld to proclaim the unsearchable riches of Christ until today. I remain persuaded that there is no greater calling on earth than preaching the gospel in dependency on the Holy Spirit to poor and needy sinners like us, who need the triune God of salvation more than we can ever realize!
I can honestly say that I am just as humbled, moved, and excited to bring God’s Word today as I was in my early twenties—and often feel more unable than ever to fulfill so sacred a task. Will you pray with me and for me that God would graciously pardon all my shortcomings, bless whatever has been according to His truth, and grant me yet more years to proclaim the whole counsel of God in my home church and throughout this needy world? Truly, Christ must increase, and I must decrease. “Ebenezer: hitherto hath the LORD helped us” (1 Sam. 7:12). Soli Deo Gloria!
Thanks so much for your prayers and friendship. Every praying friend means more to me than I can ever explain. I agree wholeheartedly with John Newton who once said that his best friends were those who lifted up his worthless name to the throne of grace to lisp it in the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth.

The God-breathed Hebrew Scripture was not lost in time; rather, that God preserved it in the Masoretic Text and kept it pure throughout the ages: exactly as he promised in his Word.

Too many Christians make it sound like you'd starve to death without the local restaurant serving enchiladas on Sunday. Let the waitress go to church. Help dads choose Divine service with fam instead of golf. Bring back national Sabbath observance. We used to be a proper nation!

This "funny man" has more sense than most UK magistrates. This evil is coming here. Dallas is filled with Muslim immigrants. When my son graduated from UTD in Dec., Muslims seemed the majority. Few politicians care. End immigration on the basis of religion & country of origin.

Rutherford on the rape of your country by Muslims and corresponding duty to punish the tyrants who let them in, as being clear by natural law.
“If a king bring in upon his native subjects twenty thousand Turks armed, and the king lead them, it is evident they come not to make a friendly visit to salute the kingdom, and depart in peace. The people have a natural throne of policy in their conscience to give warning, and materially sentence against the king as a tyrant, and so by nature are to defend themselves.”

Our inquiry report proves that without doubt there is an undeniable link between religion and the rape gangs.
Islam.
As a country, we need to find the courage to finally say so.
