This whole PHP thing was the incentive I needed to move my personal WP multisite to a fresh Lightsail instance. Performance was initially atrocious, which was the incentive I needed to optimise a few things. Now: absolutely flying.
There used to be a great little online PWA for doing this, but it went away - so I made a new one. If you're a track cyclist, you'll know why you need it.
Side project from our tech team: VeloTimer, a combined countdown timer & stopwatch, to help track cyclists preparing for standing-start events. Best feature: it can replicate the 'beep! beep! beeeeep!' pattern of various velodromes (with optional echo). velotimer.pages.dev
Great work on this by my partners at @rareview - and special thanks to WP VIP's @whyisjake for helping us with the licensing on his agentic development template.
Alpaca itself remains free and open source - although you may incur a cost through your use of AI platforms; and the feature is opt-in, shown only to the users you trust.

We just released v2.0 of Alpaca Issue Tracker for WordPress, with a feature from our science-fiction list: Fix With AI turns issue reports into draft code fixes with a single click. (Currently only supports GitHub & Claude, but we'll listen to feedback.)

I should clarify, I'm checking and approving every edit visually before it happens. It's still taking a while. But not having to do all the searching, and typing, and saving... wow.
My confidence in AI these days: perfectly happy giving Luna full admin access to my wp-admin back-end and write access via REST API, to make a ton of metadata edits that I could never practically have found the time to do.
Time to get back into the WordCamp habit. I'm doing a flying visit up to Manchester for @wcmcr on Fri 6 Nov: 1st train out, 2nd-last train home (not risking it). Wonder how many of us are still around, & remember how these things work. #SayWhatYoureThinking #SoundsGoodToMe
Trump's latest rebrand: AI. He just told the UN: 'From this point forward, all of United States documents, and hopefully the the world will be changed to use the much more accurate term super as opposed to artificial. Welcome to the new world of superintelligence - SI.'

Too right from @Dannythefink politics is all about mood, creating narratives and persuading people in order to win arguments. We’d almost forgotten what good politics is until Burnham came along #earlydays
"Can I speak up for vibes?"
@Dannythefink says 'vibes-based politics' can bring real political advantages, as Nigel Farage has shown.
“[It can create] a group of people around you who really go out and fight for you.”

I don't talk much about family/bike stuff on here... but this is my daughter, and she is Ireland's national elite-level keirin champion. ☘️ instagram.com/reel/DcY3DFhNh…
Go and like her video, I can't tell you how much she deserves it.

Oh the irony of working on a service status (liveblog) plugin, whilst constantly refreshing the GitHub service status page to see when I can get back to work.
At least it's giving me lots of ideas for features I'd like to see in a liveblog/status site...

Thank you @CountBinface, we'll take it from here.

I'm working right now on something _very_ similar. A SaaS experience, with WordPress hidden behind the scenes. Coming together very nicely.

In the UK, but not paying for HBO/TNT? Live velodrome coverage currently on BBC Alba (commentary in Scots Gaelic), available via iPlayer
Noted. 😉 Got a little bit more polishing to do on it; but I really think I'm on to something here. Will ping you in a couple of weeks.
