Unfortunately Action SA is packed with aggrieved people who can’t get out of their own way. Mashaba blames the DA for his own failures as Joburg mayor, Trollip hates the DA because he lost a leadership bid and Beaumont hates them because Steenhuisen slept with his wife.

Municipalities have zero control over NSFAS, which is in crisis due to ANC corruption. Stop being an idiot.
I know not all the votes are counted in JHB, but we're 80% there. A gentle warning to @helenzille & @HermanMashaba. You'll have a 50%+ coalition. Pull @MulderCorn in, and the deal is sealed. You beter sort yourselves out real quick, put your fragile egos aside and sort this city out. We are watching.
I'm sure the next question should be after elections. Why the hell do we have so many political parties in SA? It makes NO sense at all

Oil has dropped ~16–18% from its recent highs.
Brent is now back under $95, WTI under $88.
South Africa… when are you adjusting the fuel price?
We’ve been paying the high-price version for weeks. The next official adjustment can’t come soon enough.

@IECSouthAfrica kudos to your voting station 54870318. They were very friendy, very efficient and took me 5 minutes to cast my vote 🗳

No wonder the @MYANC is so confident that they will take the win 👀
Motherwell, Eastern Cape:
An @IECSouthAfrica official was allegedly caught interfering with an elderly woman's vote by her daughter during yesterday's special voting process.
According to the daughter, she accompanied her elderly mother to the voting station but was refused permission by an IEC official to assist her mother with casting her vote. Instead, the official allegedly insisted on assisting the elderly woman herself, despite the daughter's understanding that IEC officials are not permitted to influence or choose a voter's selection.
The daughter further alleges that her mother refused to vote for a particular political party, but the IEC official nevertheless marked an X next to that party on the ballot paper without the elderly woman's consent.
Upon noticing what had happened, the daughter confronted the official and demanded that the compromised ballot be cancelled. However, the official allegedly refused and threatened to call the police to have the woman escorted out of the voting station.
The incident reportedly took place at Ikhwezielihle Primary School in Motherwell NU 6, Voting District (VD) 10250963.
This raises serious concerns about the protection of voters' rights, the secrecy of the ballot, and the independence of the voting process.
The IEC should investigate the incident urgently and provide clarity on what transpired.

#ATT ON ELECTION DAY, MAKE 100% SURE THAT THE IEC HAS STAMPED THE BACK OF ALL YOUR BALLOT PAPERS.
Make sure that your ballot papers are stamped on the back by the IEC in your presence when the ballot papers are issued.
Unstamped ballot papers are invalid and will not be counted.

.@afriforum is today attending the first appearance of the accused in the inhumane farm attack on Donovan Marx, in the magistrates court in Ventersdorp. How many more farmers @CyrilRamaphosa ?
A lot of misinformation spread today blaming Afriforum and Solidarity about being responsible for 🇿🇦 being cut from AGOA. Its like blaming the bank when they decline a homeloan when you are not even employed.

This is the letter US President Donald Trump sent to President Cyril Ramaphosa announcing the termination of South Africa’s AGOA eligibility.
Here's the crux: "I am taking this step because I have determined that the Government of South Africa has not established, or is not making continual progress toward establishing, a system to combat corruption and bribery or the elimination of barriers to United States trade and investment, as required by section 104 of AGOA. In addition, certain actions by the Government of South Africa on matters of international security and its relations and cooperation with governments of concern to the United States risk undermining United States national security and foreign policy."

Solidarity blames Ramaphosa and Lamola for US decision on AGOA
Solidarity has expressed its disappointment at the White House’s decision not to retain South Africa as a beneficiary country under the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) for 2028. This decision is a direct result of the South African government’s failure to repair the deteriorating diplomatic relationship with the United States.
Despite Solidarity’s repeated and sustained efforts to safeguard South Africa’s participation in AGOA, it was already clear last week that relations between Pretoria and Washington had deteriorated to such an extent that the White House was no longer willing to keep South Africa in the programme. The government, President Cyril Ramaphosa and Minister Ronald Lamola repeatedly ignored warnings. Instead, they pursued a foreign policy and made public statements that further strained relations with one of South Africa’s most important trading partners.
According to Jaco Kleynhans, Head of Public Liaison at Solidarity, the organisation played a key role last year in securing support in the US Congress to extend AGOA by two years, until the end of 2028.
“Through direct engagement with senators, members of the House of Representatives and officials, we helped secure the continuation of the legislation itself. We are currently working with members of Congress on plans to extend AGOA beyond 2028. However, the annual review of beneficiary countries remains the responsibility of the White House. Ramaphosa and Lamola’s antagonism towards Trump and the White House made it impossible for the Trump administration to keep South Africa in AGOA.
“We have been warning for months that the government’s actions, including Minister Lamola’s undiplomatic remarks during his visit to the US in September, were putting South Africa’s participation in AGOA at risk. The government, Lamola and Ramaphosa must take full responsibility for this exclusion. Ordinary workers and industries will now pay the price for political negligence,” says Kleynhans.
Solidarity urgently calls on the government to resolve the dispute with the US immediately and constructively. The economic cost of this decision – particularly for the automotive, agricultural and other export-oriented industries – will be significant and will put thousands of jobs at risk.
In the meantime, Solidarity is engaging with the US government to limit the negative impact of the AGOA decision on its members and the affected industries in South Africa as far as possible. The organisation will continue to protect the interests of workers and the economy, regardless of the government’s failure to do so.
