Waste of resources. No core user cares. Standardized charging port, but the cable is non-standard to other devices. People don't want specialized accessory clutter.

I know it’s fundamentally different but after having experienced the switch 2s magnetic joycons w charging, this seems like the logical step for these ports. The magnets were so strong. Also this would mitigate ports getting angled or worn through accidental tugs and nudges.

I didn't know the world was missing a magnetic USB-C port. Seems the regular plug-in version was working just fine.
