One Governor convoy kee person for here some days ago . No official statement, no condolence, even if na eye service, everybody just move on.
The murder of a child is a pain no parent should have to endure, let alone from thousands of miles away. Javits Frimpong’s mother deserves to say goodbye to her son in person. I just got off the phone with President Trump and he has agreed to grant her visa immediately.  All of New York City is mourning this tragedy.

This is the dumbest take I’ve heard all year. And it’s been a crazy year 🤯 Let me dismantle this argument using the same analogy, with one correction. A family earns 50k (But instead of 5k going missing, 40k disappears - a much closer illustration of reality). You’re poor. Yes! But poverty is your condition. Corruption is the biggest problem keeping you trapped in poverty. That missing 40k is the money meant to fund education, skill acquisition, productive assets, building a business or creating opportunities that would actually help you earn more and escape poverty. But instead, you’re left with 10k and somehow being told by this lad that your biggest problem is that you don’t earn enough. Even if you believe him and your income rises to 500k tomorrow, is it not 400k that will still disappear ? Even scripture recognises that “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much” (Luke 16:10) Now. Revenue doesn’t fall from heaven. It comes from productivity, investment and value creation, all of which depend on the very resources that corruption is stealing. And even if you miraculously generate more revenue, there’s no amount of money that can save you from institutionalized corruption. We’ve seen people inherit enormous wealth and end up bankrupt because they couldn’t manage what was already in their hands. If you cannot account for what you already have, earning more simply gives you more to squander. I genuinely hope Seun challenged this, because I cannot imagine allowing someone to spew such nonsense with this level of confidence.
The internet is such an interesting place. This Tibetan Chihuahua doesn't miss an opportunity to talk down on other people's level of intelligence & string word salad - but this is genuinely a stupid person. It is so unbelievable 😂

My moonshot takeaways 1. Regulators have funds, offices and grants we’ve never even heard of. Some office in the bank of industry has thousands of dollars supposed to be going towards the creative system but they’re trying to figure out where to put it? 2. Data centers. Lots of it coming soon. 3. A major structural gap in the creative industry is the unwillingness to do the boring stuff. Operations, data analytics, KPIs, research, coordination. 5. The future of the creative economy is to eventually evolve from project based pay. 6. Data privacy is a huge problem 7. Creative, tech and business spaces have taken some very heavy hits because of our economic reality, it’s sad. The way we complain in music that the first wave of funding was practically squandered and so investors are tighter now is the same way they’re complaining in tech.

Look, I get that people are pissed about this thing—there’s a lot to be mad about. But I was raised by a civil servant, and time and again, I’ve learned that systems collapse gradually, not all at once. Nobody shows up on their first day of work and decides to destroy archives or anything. Quite often, it’s a series of small decisions, small things we let fester here and there. Culture is whatever a system rewards or punishes. But the thing about Nigeria is that while we’re always late to one party (the things we’ve lost are lost), I think it’s important to know we’re also always early to another. So much has been lost, but so much can still be done. And it doesn’t have to be big things; just pick the little things. For example, if someone in your family was a teenager when Nigeria became independent, statistically, they might be dead in a decade or way less. Sit with them and press record; they have so much to say, and so few people willing to listen. Just listen and press record. In whatever language they understand, no matter how little your understanding of it. Keep the family album. Use your phone to photograph them. Keep the tapes. Much of what our civilisation learned about fighting COVID-19 came from what we learned about the Spanish Flu of 1918: a mix of official records documenting death rates, etc., and personal correspondence that captured the experience of living through it. Personal history is family history is national history.
Replying to @ogbeniseyi
Less than two decades ago, they moved a new Oga to NTA Lagos, and to make room for them, they emptied the tape storage and converted it into an office. Rain beat the tapes to decay.

There's an asymmetry in tech right now. People are getting paid and making never-before-seen money, and at the same time we're seeing record layoffs over the past 4 years.

Who actually gets rich if Anthropic lists at $2 trillion? The S-1 filed on Monday lets us answer from the filing itself. The reported target is $1.5T to $2T, listing the week of November 16. The filing implies about 16.9B fully diluted shares. So $2T works out to roughly $118 a share. The cap table at $2T: - $199B for the 7 controlling co-founders, about 10% - $28B for Ben Mann, if his stake matches theirs - $100B for the Anthropic Public Benefit Fund, 5% - $331B in employee options and RSUs, about 17% , That pool covers about 5,300 employees, an average of $62M each. - But when you joined matters enormously. The S-1 shows how much equity was granted each year, and at what price. [ Headcount went from about 300 to 500 in late 2023, to 940 at end 2024, to 5,300 now. Match the two, and here is roughly how many people made what at $2T: - $110M to $400M each: ~300 to 500 people hired by 2023 - $200M to $300M each: ~440 to 640 hired in 2024 - $70M to $95M each: ~1,360 hired in 2025 - $10M to $20M each: ~3,000 hired in 2026 So about 940 people hired by the end of 2024 average nine figures. Everyone hired since averages eight figures. The 2024 class is the surprise. That year Anthropic granted 1.28B options at $1.30 a share. At $118, that one year of grants is worth about $133B. Then there is the tender. In April, holders could sell at $25.91 a share. Investors lined up $6B, but only $4.7B sold. Weeks later, Series H priced at $58.90 a share. At $2T, the people who held would be up 4.6x. And Dario and Daniela Amodei were among the sellers. The 7 founders have pledged 80% of their equity to charity. That is about $159B at $2T. But the S-1 says the pledges are not legally binding.
