Outside the Supreme Court, where the Palestine Action appeal hearing closed for the day, a man was arrested for saying, "In the UK, it's a crime to say, I support Palestine Action".
Police reportedly said it was due to the length of the pause between "crime to say" and "I support.."

What Americans call left and right, the world calls empire.
Your left bombs Libya.
Your right bombs Iraq.
Your left funds Israel.
Your right funds Israel.
Your left starves Cuba.
Your right starves Cuba.
And when the dust clears, you ask which party was more humane while the corpses look at you in silence.

Thank god! I'll go tell a Palestinian toddler who's having his legs amputated without anesthesia. He'll feel better that the group of people responsible for his misery are diverse.

Bizarre defense.
After her chief of staff said the map was redrawn to "level the playing field," the premier is saying the map favours the NDP?
You don't have to be good at gerrymandering to gerrymander. Just ask Texas Republicans.
Know the facts:

The Alberta NDP continues to spread misinformation and undermine the credibility of the Independent Advisory Panel who released the new electoral boundaries.
Using the last election’s popular vote results, the new boundaries would give the NDP +3 more seats and the UCP +1.
If someone tried to gerrymander, they did a terrible job…

As fun as it is to see republicans melt down, it should be noted that essentially every Democrat winning tonight is going to be more than happy to advance the interests of U.S. empire and the capitalist class more broadly. Different majority party, same horrors.

Hate crime is becoming a concept that means criticism of power.
It's pretty shocking to learn today that the Toronto Police Hate Crimes Unit is investigating bike lane protesters. And that those protesters have been hit with restrictive release conditions banning them from virtually all protest. I am glad the @cjc_TO is on the case!

Are you proud of locking up pensioners?
Shame on you both.

We have become such a joke country, enforcing an obviously insane law just to protect a genocidal racist settler-colony.
BREAKING: The Met Police say 139 people have been arrested during a protest in support of Palestine Action outside the US embassy in London.

Sadly, this kid isn't alone.
There are many kids in Edmonton and across the province who are being denied access to school (and have been for YEARS now) because of their immigration status. The AB Education Act needs to change. albertaworkers.org/ed4all

The gerrymandering has come out in Alberta.
It means the end of 15 years of work on a level playing field for Lethbridge New Democrats.
Profoundly illiberal, undemocratic, and a disgrace for every person involved in this fiasco.
Some pretty wild takeaways from today's electoral boundaries committee meeting:
Lethbridge would be split into FOUR ridings instead of its current two urban ones. Three would combine city neighbourhoods with surrounding rural areas.
Three urban-rural hybrid ridings are proposed along Calgary's northwest and western edges. Springbank gets split up. Kathleen Ganley questioned why the panel was citing GOLF COURSES to justify its boundaries.
Okotoks and Diamond Valley would be split apart, with Diamond Valley paired with Banff. The panel's dissenting members say public submissions overwhelmingly favoured keeping them together.
Ganley says Calgary and Edmonton ridings would average 7,000 more residents per MLA than ridings outside those cities. That's a 14 percent difference.
The NDP wanted to put its concerns about the maps on the record. UCP MLAs voted 3–2 to end the committee's review before those motions could even be considered.
The NDP also wanted taxpayers to know how much the panel and its outside consultants were paid. UCP MLAs voted that down too. Ganley says the panel chair gets an extra $5,000/month on top of regular pay.
The UCP says the maps should be debated in the Legislature once they're public. The NDP wanted the committee to scrutinize them now.
Meanwhile, Albertans still haven't seen the maps. The report is due November 2.

To stand with humanity.

A little jealous of everyone who was at Macklemore’s Free Palestine tour opener in Dublin. The way he grabbed that kufiyeh, the way he gave Palestinians in Gaza living under Israel’s brutal killing machine a platform to speak directly to the crowd… and having Kneecap and Hozier there too.
Yeah, I’m a lil choked up 🥲🇵🇸❤️

Mr Kenney, I was the disruptor in the audience that night. I was able to get in because a fellow citizen was so outraged at the Calgary Opera's decision to punish a brave young artist for displaying the Palestinian flag on stage that they donated their tickets specifically to enable that kind of protest. Unlike those people who see art as merely an object for passive consumption, there are many in this city who understand that true respect for the arts demands that we take action in the real world to uphold the morals and principles contained in these artistic works. That young artist understood that and acted accordingly, and was punished by the Calgary Opera for doing so; in response, we disrupted it. Anyone who claims to be more troubled about such a mild disruption than they are about the mass slaughter of human beings is either lying or so morally bankrupt that they shouldn't be taken seriously anyway; in any case, unlike the millions of Palestinians killed and displaced in the last three years, everyone at the show who was bothered by my brief intervention will be just fine.
For the last three years, tens of thousands of Calgarians and millions of people across this country have been organizing non-stop protests and events to try to bring an end to the mass slaughter of Palestinians (and Lebanese, Iranians, Yemenis, Syrians) being carried out by Israel with the support of Canadian and Calgarian politicians and institutions. For three years, we have been largely ignored, all while we continue to watch images of the bodies of civilians and children pulled from the rubble; Israel blowing up hospitals, schools, refugee camps, residential blocks, and entire cities with impunity; mass graves left by Israeli soldiers filled with civilian bodies showing marks of torture and execution; mountains of credible evidence, testimonies and reports of extreme abuses of Palestinians by Israeli prison guards, including torture, sexual torture, and rape; and countless more indescribable crimes that can only be compared with the horrors of the Nazi Holocaust and other such genocides. Unfortunately, despite the persistence of protesters across the world and the gravity and frequency of the crimes being committed by Israel, our efforts have so far failed to bring an end to the slaughter.
This failure to stop the genocide is due in no small part to people like you, who have a track record of unrelenting material support for Israel both in and out of political office. We in Calgary remember that just a few weeks ago you appeared as a speaker at a fundraiser here for IDF soldiers recently returned from directly committing genocide on the ground in Gaza. You, whose hands are drenched with the blood of children, have no moral standing whatsoever to pass judgment on anyone, and in a better world you yourself would be on trial for the years you've spent providing political cover and direct material support to the genocidal Israeli state. To be the target of such an ignorant and hypocritical statement from an unrepentant genocide supporter like you doesn't bother me in the slightest; on the contrary, it's a badge of honour that I and everyone involved in sustaining these acts of protest will wear proudly long after world opinion has discarded you as the depraved genocide apologist you are. And as long as the killing continues, rest assured we will also continue to give people like you plenty of opportunities to keep honouring us with statements like this.
Remember, there is no statute of limitations for war crimes and genocide. See you in a few years, you bloodthirsty Zionist fanatic.
