Maybe it’s time to circle back to the “no taxation without representation” concept. Citizens United ensured that only megadonors can buy representation (to have their taxes reduced or eliminated). Seems like we’re back to where we started…only worse.

Voters have so little to do with what government actually does. Every few years they vote like 51-49% for a party to control branches of government. Then the only major legislation the government does is stuff that voters hate, like this bill. Then the process repeats.

Right now, if you publish your creative work online, AI companies will use it to build highly scalable competitors to you as a creator. Your options are (i) power your AI competitors or (ii) stop publishing. It should be clear to everyone that this is totally unsustainable. The backlash from creators is only going to grow.

Heads up: Microsoft Office, like many companies in recent months, has slyly turned on an “opt-out” feature that scrapes your Word and Excel documents to train its internal AI systems. This setting is turned on by default, and you have to manually uncheck a box in order to opt out. If you are a writer who uses MS Word to write any proprietary content (blog posts, novels, or any work you intend to protect with copyright and/or sell), you’re going to want to turn this feature off immediately.

No, you can’t just deport people without legal due process. No, you can’t just fire federal employees without legal due process. No, you can’t just impose across the board tariffs without Congress. If Trump tries, he’ll get SUED — slowing or stopping him entirely.
