Following their visit to Israel and the West Bank, Mary Robinson and Helen Clark are warning that the accelerating annexation of Palestinian land and the climate of impunity for settler violence are driving the region towards even greater instability.
Without consequences for settlement expansion the prospects for a just peace will continue to disappear.

BREAKING:
Israel is wiping out village after village in South Lebanon right now.
In the middle of the night.
Villages older than entire modern states.
Not military targets.
This is terrorism. Pure and simple.

It is beyond disgraceful that the 'Great Israeli Real Estate' event was allowed to go ahead.
Once again, the government has exposed its flagrant contempt for international law as well as its shameful complicity in Israel’s illegal occupation.

Andy Burnham says he wants a change in direction from this Labour government.
He can prove it: by backing a public inquiry into the British government's complicity in genocide.

This is a really important just read article from Michelle Burns.
Reflecting on her experience as a safeguarding advisor @dioceseoflondon she points out how safeguarding policy is used by senior staff to police the personal relationships of clergy and that this is varied by significant degree in relation to sexuality.
Michelle highlights how deeply this affects queer clergy in particular, whose lives are often brought under particular scrutiny. She further highlights the extraordinary disjunction between now much resource we spend on policing consensual sex between adults and how little on governance failures in safeguarding….
For my part I have been becoming more convinced that a Church that can impose lifetime sanctions for consensual sex between adults, but cannot identify meaningful accountability when safeguarding systems cause profound harm, has a serious moral problem and has lost sight of the Jesus presented in the gospels.
Five years after Alan Griffin’s death, many still ask where responsibility lies……and why consensual sex, even if outside the teaching is the Church, leads to lifetime bans, but governance failures, which lead to a death have no consequences at all.
The Church has become highly skilled at scrutinising the powerless. It remains much less confident at holding power to account. That is not justice. And it is not safeguarding.
In any other organisation, an obsessive interest in other people's sex lives would result in being whisked to HR and disappearing into the ether.
The Church of England, however, appears to have built an entire ecosystem around it.

No nation, no society, and no international order can call itself just and humane if it measures its success solely by power or prosperity while neglecting those who live at the margins. Indeed, Christ’s love for the least and the forgotten compels us to reject every form of selfishness that leaves the poor and the vulnerable invisible.

It calls on Britain to end all military co-operation with Israel, impose economic sanctions, and investigate British citizens who participated in Israel's war crimes.

“38 million.”
And this is the same U.S. that now wants to “liberate” Iran.

Allowing British bases to be used in an illegal war of aggression is a catastrophic and historic mistake.
Britain has been dragged into another war because our Prime Minister would rather appease Donald Trump than stand up for international law.
War is not a game. This shameful decision makes Britain complicit in the devastating consequences ahead - and jeopardises the safety of us all.

Another day, another unspeakable act of cruelty.
There will be no consequences. Instead, our government will keep providing military and economic support, granting endless impunity for Israel's crimes.
What utter inhumanity. We will not rest until Palestine is free.

"To heal our blindness, the Lord chooses to reveal himself in each human being, who reflect his true image, according to a plan of love begun at the creation of the world. As long as the night of error obscures this providential truth, then 'there is no room for others either, for children, for the poor, for the stranger' (Benedict XVI, Dec. 24, 2012).
"These words of Pope Benedict XVI remain a timely reminder that on earth, there is no room for God if there is no room for the human person. To refuse one is to refuse the other. Yet where there is room for the human person, there is room for God."

What is the point of these posts?
She refuses to name the state responsible for blocking the aid - Israel.
That shows she is refusing to put any public pressure on the UK's ally, Israel, as it continues to deprive the Palestinian people of food and life's essentials.

When I was first elected, evidence showed it would take 193 years to bring London's air pollution within legal limits.
Due to our policies, we've done it in 9.
In Brazil this week, we showed that cities are giving the world reason to hope when tackling the climate emergency.
Ceasefire, Israeli style: Gaza bombed, Palestinians killed in the West Bank, more land taken in both.
The int’l community dares call it “peace.”
To those who’ve recently recognised the State of Palestine: you see, recognition means nothing if you do not protect it.
