I WAS 47, BUT MY MANAGER WAS 32. I CALLED HIM SIR!
Never let your age, qualifications or experience stop you from respecting others. And don’t turn your workplace into a battlefield. Positions are temporary.
Years ago, while working in banking, I reported to several managers. One was my university classmate. We graduated together, but he studied Computer Science while I studied Graphic Design.
Years later, we joined the same organisation. He became a manager, while I was a banking officer.
Whenever he called me, I simply responded, “Yes, sir!”
I never felt threatened by his position. We may have graduated together, but we were not meant to fulfil the same assignment in life. His journey was his, and mine was mine.
I knew my current job was only one chapter of my life. I didn’t need to compete with him or measure my progress against his promotion.
At 47, I also had a manager who was 32. I respected him and gave him my full cooperation. His position did not diminish my potential, just as my age did not diminish his authority.
Here is the lesson:
Never turn someone else’s promotion into evidence of your failure. Your colleague may become your manager. Someone younger than you may be placed in authority over you. Respect them.
Their elevation is not your humiliation, and their success is not your defeat.
Remember, the office, title and reporting structure are temporary. Don’t destroy lasting relationships because of temporary positions.
If you are in authority, treat people with dignity. Leadership is not a licence to humiliate others.
You don’t have to be ahead of everyone to fulfil your purpose. Run your race, respect those ahead of you, encourage those behind you and stay committed to your assignment.
The office is temporary. Your purpose is bigger than your position.

If I want to be honest with you, please focus on building a long term career. This customer service remotes jobs are a slippery slope to keep y’all small and in a circle of no growth. Transition to a better role if you can in a stable company where you can grow. You have what it

I grew up playing The Sims 3 and always wondered what it would be like if the Sims lived in a world inspired by ours.🤷🏽♀️
Then I saw @eureka_seamless riding a danfo through Lagos, and it sparked an idea: Lagos Life Sims.
Take a look around. Who knows, you might make a new friend in the Sims world.

He doesn't need to give her his PIN. There always a clause to add another signatory to you account and that clause activates when you're indisposed or not alive. Then the person can take over the account.
I can tell you for a fact that this woman would still appreciate the PIN more 😂

Uhmmm ok this makes sense so you are saying that that mindset shift is not totally missing in women but it shows up much later.
Let me tell you a secret based on my Community Experience at Andela: if you want to have genuine connections with your followers on X, look at everything big NG tech bro accounts are doing, and do the opposite.
Like literally watch that Big Sheddy guy, and similar accounts with 40k+ followers and do the opposite.
These are "big" accounts on X that barely get genuine interactions because they think they've arrived. Pay attention and don't fall into the same hollow chamber they've created regardless of the success you have.
See, everyone matters. You see that guy that hasn't yet subscribed to X Premium, he fit blow tomorrow o. Oh, this other person has 30 followers and doesn't deserve a reply? E go shock you when one trend will skyrocket his account.
Tech follows a trend. People you've never heard of just last month go viral after creating a game. This taxi game that came up the other day did millions of impressions and dude has been adding followers like water.
Or is it Lagos Life? See, it's all a trend. 4 years ago my guy, my sis, I was going for interviews and proudly rejecting jobs like a fool. Omo, today, even with my CV, them dey air me oo. So it's a trend. Bide your time, stay patient, hone those skills, NEVER look down on anyone except APC supporters (because they are after your life).
You matter more than you think and everyone you come across also matters a lot. Stay grateful and keep your head high always. This life na less.
