The Wrapper was -- *checks notes* -- built by a private developer on privately owned land by an architect trained and active in Los Angeles for longer than @spencerpratt has been alive. Meanwhile, the region's "commie" economy has the third-highest metro GPD in the world.

This is the interview Donald Trump didn’t want you to see. His FCC refused to air my interview with Stephen Colbert. Trump is worried we’re about to flip Texas.

More affordable housing is on the ballot. More effective solutions to homelessness are on the ballot. More mental health care and substance treatment? Yup, also on the ballot.

As someone who often drives the Marina — or 90 — Freeway, I’ve long thought there had be a better use for the land than a 3-mile shortcut to Marina del Rey. But as I write in my latest column, the wall of resistance to replacing it with housing is telling.latimes.com/california/story…

BREAKING HOUSING NEWS: Our legislation allowing religious institutions & nonprofits colleges to build affordable housing on their land is on its way to the Governor, with final Senate approval. SB 4 will open up 170,000 acres of land for affordable housing. It’s a game changer.

Most barbs aimed at Harris come from the party whose front-runner was convicted of sexual assault and caters to white nationalists. With their racist and sexist baggage, using “President Harris” as a boogeyman is especially disgusting. And effective. latimes.com/opinion/story/20…

Big news: UCLA's student council which represents 30k+ undergrads just came out in support of heavy rail for the Sepulveda Transit Corridor, rejecting all monorail options AND calling out the inappropriate back door meetings between UCLA, Bel Air HOA, and BYD.

.@RepKatiePorter is right: There are lots of misconceptions about clean energy appliances + home upgrades—esp. around cost. Through @POTUS' Inflation Reduction Act, we're making 🌎-friendly, health-friendly home upgrades budget-friendly too. Learn more → cleanenergy.gov

California's official homelessness population figures won't be out until January but @manuelatobiasm grinded out an estimate that shows that it rose by 22,500 people over the last three years and is now nearly as large as city of Santa Rosa.

.@manuelatobiasm has the first statewide snapshot of California’s homelessness crisis since the pandemic hit. She found that the number of people without a stable place to call home increased by at least 22,500 over the past three years, to 173,800. calmatters.org/housing/2022/…

Voila! The tarps are down and the paint at Depot has been revealed. These glimpses of orange are meant to accentuate the pleats of the building's façade, changing its appearance as the viewer changes perspective.

Honestly can’t decide if I’m more excited for the @RickCarusoLA v @KarenBassLA debate, or the @alex4sheriff v @lunaforsheriff throwdown. Perhaps the latter, if only because Alex Villanueva is such a wildcard. 2 hours and 7 minutes away on FOX 11. @Elex_Michaelson @Erika_D_Smith

Thanks to @SenMariaEDurazo and @AsmCarrillo for supporting and voting for key housing legislation throughout the 2022 legislative session. We know that this will have long-running impacts the Eastside where we desperately need housing that is more affordable across the board!
An absolutely insane day for @cayimby. The California legislature passed: (1) AB 2011, legalizing mixed-income multifamily in nearly all commercial areas; (2) AB 2097, effectively ending parking mandates near transit; and (3) AB 2221, which further streamlines ADU permitting.
