NEWS: As part of @GovKathyHochul’s EXPRESS NY initiative to modernize state regulations, streamline government, and cut red tape, New York is taking steps to reduce administrative barriers to childcare. governor.ny.gov/sites/defaul…
One such reform from the Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) will reduce duplicative background check and medical statement requirements for approved childcare educators moving between programs and sites.
These changes can help childcare providers maintain adequate staffing and avoid classroom disruptions, while ensuring essential child safety protections remain in place. Thank you, @GovKathyHochul, for supporting childcare providers and New York families!
Yesterday, Win’s Policy & Advocacy Team attended
@HELPUSA Upstream 2026: Frontline Solutions to Homelessness, focused on moving from a reactive right to shelter system to a proactive right to housing.
The team heard from experts in the field about connecting homelessness prevention, shelter, & permanent housing, & ensuring people have the support they need to remain stably housed. Ending homelessness requires a coordinated approach that makes housing the goal at every stage.
Thank you to @HELPUSA for convening this important symposium and bringing together leaders working toward lasting housing solutions for New Yorkers.
Yesterday, Win partnered with @ATT to distribute 100 computers to families living at our Staten Island residence, expanding access to the digital tools families need to pursue educational opportunities, secure employment, navigate housing resources, & build pathways to stability.
For families experiencing homelessness, access to technology can make a difference in navigating everyday challenges and pursuing new opportunities. Partnerships like this help address the digital divide & ensure families aren’t left behind in an increasingly connected world.
We are grateful to @ATT for joining us in advancing digital equity and investing in the futures of New York City families.
