In 2025, @ADL recorded 6,274 antisemitic incidents across the U.S. Incidents occurred in all 50
states and D.C. — no state was spared.
156 of those were recorded in Michigan.
Yesterday ushered in a new political chapter in Washington, DC and across the country. This was a historic election, as voters broke longstanding barriers and expanded representation, reflecting the growing diversity of American public life.
This election season also underscored the dangers of portraying Jews as dangerous, disloyal or responsible for society’s problems, as well as the blatant fixation on and demonization of Israel. Such antisemitic rhetoric and scapegoating fuels hatred and can lead to harassment, threats and violence. In too many places, Jewish Americans’ concerns about this were overshadowed by competing priorities or dismissed outright.
As leaders transition from campaign to governance, elected leaders have a responsibility to foster an environment in which Jewish Americans, like all Americans, can fully participate in public and civic life without being subjected to special litmus tests, having their identity questioned, or being made to feel that their connection to Israel is incompatible with their place in American society.
Leaders in both parties must have the courage to confront antisemitism wherever it appears, including within their own ranks. ADL stands ready to work with leaders of both parties at every level of government. We will do so by building partnerships where possible, demanding accountability where necessary and never compromising our commitment to Jewish safety and dignity.

Antisemitism showed up in campaign speeches, ads, and online this election season. What could it mean for Jewish communities in schools, workplaces and statehouses?

Hasan Piker outrageously compared Detroit's Jews to the KKK in his livestream last night, saying their "supremacist attitude" is "identical."
It's disgusting to compare American Jews to a white supremacist extremist movement that terrorizes Black and Jewish Americans — and that @ADL has spent over a century fighting.
The irony of comparing Jews to a movement whose very ideology is steeped in Jew hatred is apparently lost on him.
8 years ago, 11 innocent people were murdered during Shabbat services at Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life Synagogue in the deadliest antisemitic attack in U.S. history.
Today, we continue to mourn the lives stolen simply because they were Jewish. May their memories be a blessing.

We condemn the recent violence against Palestinian olive harvesters, journalists and international visitors in the West Bank, including the assault on American photojournalist Heidi Levine.
These attacks are part of a broader, deeply troubling pattern of violence and intimidation that demands urgent action by Israeli authorities.
We welcome the condemnations by FM Saar and the IDF and the opening of an investigation. Those steps must be followed by effective law enforcement.
Confronting this extremism is essential to upholding the rule of law and the values on which Israel was founded.

We condemn the threatening letters sent to many public officials, some of which contained unidentified white powder.
Political violence, threats and intimidation are unacceptable, whether or not they result in physical harm.
Today, I received a threatening letter at my Grand Rapids, Michigan office that contained unidentified white powder. The letter, which claimed to be from the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), made a direct and specific reference to an impending “civil war” beginning after the election. The letter sent to my office is similar to those received at other congressional offices across the country. The DSA has not yet addressed the attacks, either to condemn them or to take or deny responsibility. The Grand Rapids Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) responded immediately.
Threats and extremism are not signs of strength—they are signs of a weak mind and weak character. Political intimidation has no place in our democracy, and leaders must condemn it, not excuse it. I’ll keep standing up to bullies on the right and the left.

I’m very much still thinking of how pivotal 2016-2020 years were. Linda Sarsour was the face of the women’s march, invited to headline the largest Muslim American conference in North America with Mehdi Hasan, working for AOC, Bernie Sanders, backed by CAIR funds, leading My Muslim Vote -backing Abdul El Sayed in his first run for governor, and here she is being very honest about the strategy.
When we raised the alarm on these coalitions forming around the Democratic Party, many dismissed it’s extremism, and now we’re watching the fruit of their labor. Jews are no longer humanized.

.@JonahPlatt said it best: "Having private solidarity doesn't move the needle when public spaces are being entirely surrendered to fear."
Visibility is courage. When influencers wear their Jewish identity proudly, they show the rest of us what's possible. We cannot be afraid to be seen. Tell your story, out loud, in public. We are not alone. jta.org/2026/10/08/united-st…

Reducing Jewish voters' motivation to one presumed issue is unfair at best and plays into the classic antisemitic trope of dual loyalty at worst. The retributive and threatening nature of this post is shocking. The fact that it comes from an ostensibly mainstream political consultant demonstrates the utter insensitivity of so many to Jewish anxiety and the double standards to which Jewish people are held.
Three years since October 7. We remember the 1,200+ people brutally murdered, those who endured captivity and those who never returned alive. We will keep telling the stories of those we lost. By remembering their lives, we honor their memory and ensure the truth lives on.
ADL has carried out a first-of-its-kind comprehensive and systematic evaluation of antisemitism and Jewish representation across 40 leading U.S. art museums across three categories: policies and internal standards, art and artist representation, partnerships and programming.
In a new report released today. @DIADetroit received a “Good Showing” rating. We found that the DIA demonstrates strong awareness and positive practice, with some room for further improvement. We look forward to continuing our work with this first class institution.
State of the Arts releases tomorrow - stay tuned.
Jewish and Israeli artists are being canceled, blacklisted and pushed out of American cultural life simply because of who they are.
ADL’s State of the Arts is a first-of-its-kind research initiative and digital platform documenting the exclusion and marginalization of Jewish and Israeli artists.
Launching tomorrow 10/1.
