Surreal to hear Energy Secretary try and say this is a "pragmatic decision." It will do nothing to lower bills. It will do lots for the profits of the oil & gas companies. And will continue us further down the path of floods and wildfires. Disastrous decision from Labour.
On going ahead with Jackdaw: "@ZackPolanski.. says this is a betrayal of all of our futures.. do you really think this is the right thing to do?" @Miatsf: "Well look I do.. we have seen that climate change is here.. heat waves, wild fires, drought.. its a pragmatic decision"

“I am appalled by this grotesque, morally bankrupt act by the Green Party, so much so that i’ve written to and sided with two pro-Israel lobby groups that support the genocide in Gaza.”
I am ruling out our party entering into a national partnership with any party that is committed to a dangerous and antisemitic policy like the Green Party’s. Here is my letter to the Jewish Leadership Council and the Board of Deputies of British Jews 👇

Greens Organise stands with Green Councillors holding firm in the face of intimidatory and overreaching demands from Andy Burnham’s Labour government. The Prime Minister bangs the drum of devolution, but his government is now attempting to destabilise local councils... 1/6

Can anyone remember the last time @BBCNews interviewed a Palestinian about their experience of the racism of Zionism? Having spent the last two weeks interviewing elderly Nakba survivors in Jordan, driven off their land in their teens because of their ethnicity and religion, I'd be happy to suggest some astonishingly articulate victims of Israeli racism who would be only too happy to tell their tragic stories of eviction, slaughter and dispossession. It is like reporting on the Civil Rights movement in the US and only interviewing outraged Whites @bbclaurak @bbcnickrobinson @JustinOnWeb @BBCr4today
“[Saying] ‘Zionism is racism’ is offensive, it’s antisemitic and it’s dangerous” Broadcaster Jo Coburn says she “watched in horror” as the Green Party passed its motion on Zionism and criticises leader Zack Polanski's defence in his #BBCLauraK interview bbc.co.uk/news/live/c64gv8k2…

A Labour Peer interviewing a Labour minister. This is so utterly absurd. We so badly need media reform.
Labour govt minister Yvette Cooper tells Labour peer Ayesha Hazarika, who is interviewing her, "you're a journalist"

Went on BBC Politics Live to discuss why Zionism is a racist ideology. The anchor and all three panelists looked like they were about to cry at the end. Very weird behaviour. Join the Green Party.

Excellent letter from the leader of the Green group in Sheffield. The Labour Party lost 13 seats and control of the Council in May. If they go ahead with this, they can expect to lose many more next time round. sheffieldgreenparty.org.uk/2…

This is a brilliant letter from the Green leader on Sheffield Council. Every local Green leader in every local authority where Labour is threatening to leave a coalition should do the same and make sure the letter is published in the local media & sent to all households. Labour will be decimated in the next local elections

Labour believes everyone holding public office must be a Zionist, and will let Reform take power in local authorities rather than work with anti-Zionist Greens.
BREAKING: The Labour Party has said that power-sharing agreements with the Green Party will end unless local Greens explicitly reject their party's "Zionism is racism" policy The Labour Party has asked all Labour groups in power-sharing agreements with the Green Party to review their arrangements in local government after the prime minister's words at PMQs yesterday. Bridget Phillipson MP, Chair of the Labour Party, said: “The Prime Minister has been completely clear: this policy is wrong and antisemitic, and has no place in British politics. “Where local Labour Parties currently have an arrangement with the Greens in local government, we expect their Green counterparts to make clear that they reject this position and to call on their national leadership to reconsider the policy. “We have asked local Green groups to respond as a matter of urgency. Where they are unable to provide that assurance, Labour will bring any such local arrangement to an end. This isn’t an issue of party politics; it’s about doing what is right and upholding the values anyone holding public office should share. “The Labour Party fought hard to address antisemitism within our own party and ensure it had no place in our politics. We have a responsibility to uphold those same standards in our relationships with other parties.”

Antisemitism is serious. That’s precisely why it should never be weaponised as a political football. Labour doing so should disgust people across every community. And all this while they continue to arm a genocide and lock up pensioners.
