i think something that also irks me so bad is how you can have conversations about tails branching out into his own adventures despite admiring sonic and him being central to tails life but you cant have conversations like that about amy without a bunch of pushback. sigh

Ok so I honestly don't mind the bio change and don't see it as a huge deal and I don't think it's erasing Amy's character. I think people are focusing too much on the crush aspect of her character instead of her other many character traits that make her unique!

I know Chris works incredibly hard on Sonic with a true love and passion, and wants to see this franchise succeed.

ppl who say her attraction to sonic does not make her weak - yes, you're correct. however, fem leading characters for decades upon decades have hinged on serving as love interests for leading masculine heros. Its fair and dare I say needed to be critical of such a thing.

The official Japanese #Sonic Channel has updated Amy Rose's biography, removing all explicit references to her longtime crush on Sonic.
Her previous profile described her as a girl in love with Sonic who constantly chased him and even called herself his girlfriend, a character trait associated with Amy since her debut in 1993.
The new description takes a different approach, presenting her as an energetic, positive and courageous hedgehog who leads her friends and never backs down when they're in danger. It also highlights her Piko Piko Hammer and dedication to self-improvement.
Interestingly, Sonic is no longer mentioned anywhere in her main character description. The change has sparked discussion among fans, especially given how closely Amy's feelings for Sonic have been associated with her character for decades.
